Feng Shui (The 510 Experiment) (Pics fixed through page 7..)

Nice... some guys on Zilvia.net made some oil filter relocators. I bought the protype from them but never got around to installing it. It has additional ports for oil feed line (turbo).

I seen those. I don't like the custom fittings, If something gets buggered or the flare doesn't seal anymore its gonna be REAL expensive to have a machine shop make new ones once these guys stop making them. It's a nice piece though, for sure!

I'm going to "T" off the fitting at the oil filter for my pressure switch to keep it clean

My boss talked me out of making a new oil filter relocation block. I did redo the Model if anyone wants to use it to make there own?

Today I finally started tackling the floor again. Got the "hump" cutout and started fitting the new panel. I'll post more pics when its done... This is definitely way outside of my skill level but nobody is gonna do it for me!

Here's the "hump"

Here's the hole...

Thanks!

It is gonna be a completely different car when it's back on the road. I'm going to use this http://www.secondskinaudio.com/sound-deadener/spectrum-sludge.php on both sides of the firewall, both side of the floor pans and inside the front and rear door panels. It should make a nice quiet ride.....

I'm really excited to drive her again!

I think my Dad gets fire tonight on AxMen, hopefully they don't make him look like an ass!

Yeah, Papac is gonna struggle....

So I was at work today, contemplating making a new lower intake manifold. I decided I like the stock one it was just ugly.

Time for some OCD relief......

Still got some holes to weld up and more grinding to be done on the runners.

I wanted to see how the manifold looks on the motor and also plan all the routing of hoses. I think I'm going to paint it wrinkle black. I swear I took 10pounds off the manifold!

I still have some grinding to do in the front area of both the upper and lower manifold. Where the two holes are is gonna be smoothed out, the lower left hole is for my throttle cable. I would like to make a new fuel rail since the stock one is so ugly, we'll see if I end up doing it....

So my windshield was cracked and leaking and I'm not going to let water get on my nice floor! Out came the windshield.... I also wanted to paint and sound deaden the whole firewall along with welding up all holes and rewire the dash. Out came the dash..... Next I'm pulling the rear sub frame, designing adjustable mounts, installing Maxima rear brakes and e-brake system (I think the Maxima is the one I want?). Can someone correct me on this?

Thanks Laecaon!

Well progress has been slow lately. I managed to strip the car further and it's looking like I'll be painting the car now.....

I pulled the windshield, rear window and side windows. I now have to weld up the holes from the window straps left over from its former racing days.

Here's the sad current pictures......

Finished the upper manifold and put some paint on it finally.... Decided to go with a standard high gloss black since it already has a rough cast look. I'll probably paint the valve cover a satin red to contrast the gloss manifold.

Still gotta do some more welding/grinding on the lower manifold.

Paint is still drying in the pics.

EDIT: Better Pics

It's Dynamic Milling. This is what it looks like when you crank it up!

I somehow measured the bolt spacing wrong, it works but I had to enlarge the holes slightly. I might redo the model and make another one..... If I do... you want 2D or Solid Model?

Just used the dynamic milling last week. Works pretty good. I'll try to get some pictures on the carrier I used it on.

A friend of mine did the program. It cuts alot of air but when it gets in a cut look out. I don't think the cycle time was any less than what I had before. But I never had to change a cutter and never broke anything. So over all it was faster.

What kind of machine?

The cutter life is the main selling point for sure. I've cut Tungsten/Copper/Nickel Mix with a 1/2" cutter, 1" deep, 0.015" step over at 350SFM and 120IPM. Same results with Titanium 6AL4V

Cuts like butter and the long stringy chips just fly! I'll get some videos of High Speed action this week....

Haas VF3. I suck at milling. I have a friend of mine that rocks at the Master cam. So I send him alot of my mill work. I'm more of a turning shop.

See the lets see some machine work thread. I just stuck my neck out for a new machine today.

Finally finished the manifold. I could've spent more time blending and smoothing but I feel pretty good about it. I don't want to think about how much time I have into this part...... http://community.ratsun.net/public/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif

Well I'll be moving in the next couple weeks and the car will come with me and will move into a new shop! I'll now have the car right outside my door and will be able to get alot more work done!

Today I put the motor back in for the move. I also ordered a 16x8.25-0 Offset XXR 527 for fitment, once the car is painted I order the rest. I would order my rear flares but for some reason Byron would respond to my emails or pm's?

Finally got "one" wheel for fitment. 15x8 - 0 Offset - Rota Grid-V. I'm gonna mount a 195/45-15 and a 205/50-15 Proxes T1R Tire up tonight and see which size I prefer. Then throw it on the car and figure out my spacer size and ride height.......

Looks like I'll need a 1" (appx.) spacer in the back. I'm not sure about the width of the tire, I might try the 205. I kinda feel like the ballon tires on the other wheels are making this one look small..... opinions?

The car is looking great. I love all the custom machine work you are doing.

With regard to the tires I am of the opinion that if you have the room you should use it. I like the stretched look as much as the other guy, but with the flares it makes the tires look really skinny. I would say go 205's or even 225's. Just make sure you stay with a low profile tire. That is just my .02.
