ruckycharms
Hello Rats, So I finally got my Dogleg into my 620 with L18 to boot. A lot of complications doing this swap. The latest is the slave cylinder for the Datsun 200sx ( Tranny ) has a line that comes out and right into where my torsion bar is located. So my buddy who was doing my swap simply did a mickey mouse job of bending the line at an angle as a temporary fix. His recommendation is to go to a custom brake lien shop and have them fab one for me. Does anyone know of another alternative for problem? Which option should I take? 1) Go get a custom brake line made and install it 2) Get a longer line and go AROUND the torsion bar PLEASE HELP- JCCS SO CLOSE! Quote Link to comment
Pumpkn210
Make the Oics bigger so I can see it better! :D Maby use some elbow fittings onthe slave to make it go to the side instead? Quote Link to comment
datto510
You have to use the slave cylinder from a 521. The 200sx slave cylinder hits the torsion bar. Its that easy! Quote Link to comment
ruckycharms
yeah, my bad I know no pics. It's still at the shop. I was told about the problem by my buddy. Thanks for the suggestion man. I'll ask him about that. ;) Quote Link to comment

I will check so please no posts about LMGTFU.com - Which are very funny btw :D Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The 620 would be similar too. The flex line enters the slave from the front. Quote Link to comment

ruckycharms
You guys are seriously great. Thank you so much! Strange thing is.. my buddy first tried the 620 slave and it had some kind of other fitment issue... Maybe my friend is the wrong guy for the job  Quote Link to comment
ruckycharms
Here's another dumb question.. Right now my line is kinked just like the one in the first illustration. How long can realistically drive that way before the slave/line gives out? I am way short on time. Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
You can drive it as much as you want...you just won't have a clutch  Quote Link to comment

Pacific coast Datsun
Had the same issue when i did the ZX 5 speed swap in my 521. Have to use the truck clutch slave, Kragen / Oreiley's has these in stock all day long. 2 bolts..gravity bleed & your on the road. Quote Link to comment
ruckycharms
With the truck slave I will likely be hitting that lip on the very edge of the bellhousing. The truck slave is slightly longer causing it to be mounted at an angle to get over that lip on the housing. I may have to get grinding on that lip. Nothing on Rockauto appears to be a correct fit... sigh. If anyone here knew an exact fit application for my problem that would be great. Anyways, thanks for all your help guys! Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Mine fit right in the groove for it on the bellhousing. Quote Link to comment

Steve i went & looked @ my dogleg & theres a 3/4 inch lip on the bell housing right where the hose threads in He should be able to grind a bit of that lip away to get the slave to sit flat.
