Sickboy1031
I went to a driveline shop to get a carrier bearing and they said for not much more money they could do a one piece driveline. I have 3 inch lowering blocks in the back. is this better than the two piece? Quote Link to comment
Farmer Joe
well i think if you dont plan on goin any lower in the rear, than you should be able to do a solid drive shaft. i think fastdad on here has a kingcab on 3in blocks with a 1 piece drive shaft. Quote Link to comment
Sickboy1031
will I notice much difference from my 2 piece with no rubber on the carrier bearing? Quote Link to comment
Farmer Joe
i dunno? im sure you have to be loosing some torque since its not being held as solid as it should be... itll prolly feel more solid with the 1 piece Quote Link to comment
izzo
IIRC, fastdad had to put different leaf springs on there to keep the axle from hitting the frame. Sounded like a bowling ball rolling around. There was a tiny little mod he had to do, but it wasn't much. Quote Link to comment
Sickboy1031
I think the drivetrain guys are gonna shim the rear end and line it all up and maybe notch somthing he said he has to look at it tomorrow Quote Link to comment
izzo
ok if not, get some hardbody rear leafs if you plan on having some kind of suspension left (IE, not removing leafs). it'll stiffen it right up! Quote Link to comment
Abe Froman
Little more info here, My link Quote Link to comment
Sickboy1031
I think he is just gonna notch the carrier bearing hole Quote Link to comment

Sounded like a bowling ball rolling around. There was a tiny little mod he had to do, but it wasn't much. i put the hardbody springs on before i did the one piece...there is no noticeable difference in way it drives...i did have to shim the rear axle to get the drive shaft straight to keep it from rubbing( which should have been done anyways)..the price was the same reason i did mine Quote Link to comment
Sickboy1031
Ok a q:Duick plug I just went to Jims Drivetrain to pick my truck up after dropping it off at noon he converted me to one piece driveshaft for only 200 I got lucky my Ujoints were good and still usable but damn i was stoked I expected it to be much more :D Quote Link to comment
