solved the hood problem !!!!

It's a little Mad Max ish , still not sure if I like it .......

I will build another open hood for the summer time I wont know if the open hood I have will still work until I get the fenders and hood all lined up properly , I still have the front cross member to build , I need all the body parts in there proper place before I can make it with the forward cab mounts.

So here is a bump on a scoop .............

That's still awesome imo but the blower sticking out is more aggressive

Hey DatMo

yes I agree with you I like it sticking out of the hood also ,and with the paint scheme it will be awesome.

But this truck is going to be used all year round , and here in the winter it rains frigin sideways !!!!!!! , so I will have two hoods one open for spring to fall and this one with two scoops .

Worked on getting the front end straightened up today , had to cut the inner fenders , they were tweaked and wouldn't let the nose stay in the right place , weled the rad support back in and got it as square as I could , still need to drill some new holes in the fenders to hold it .but I can move onto the cab mounts in the front and the bumper receiver , then onto the body drop on the box and the four link !!!!!

Looking forward to that .

This is way better than it was , there is still room for adjusting , I need to re drill some of the fender holes on the passenger side

On to the box chop & drop ( this was not fun )

Got the box standing plum and used the laser level to mark my lines to cut , works very well for this type of thing

Welded a bar across the top to hold it square

Hey Wayno

I cut the lower ribs first with a Sawzall and then cut the rest with a Zip cut disc , I left some tabs until the end so it would hold it up and not bind , it took longer to lay out than to cut , hop to get back on it today

Hope to have the floor tacked back in tonight or tomorrow .......but there is a lot of prep , like removing the frigin undercoating and paint in the weld areas.

Good work, and not for the faint hearted, that is a lot of real estate to weld without it twisting like a pretzel. You know how to get shit done.

Thanks..................I know its a huge undertaking to body drop anything , I sure didn't want to , I didn't want to shorten the box in the first place either .

Getting the box buttoned up slowly , still have to make the little piece that goes at the back of the bed .

Got it all tacked up and straight ,the side rails were bowed out in the middle about 3/16ths of an inch after welding the side panels in.

Had to strap it all in the right place and pull it evenly , was fun getting it to all line up before taking.

It turned out not too bad , still some welding to do and the little part at the back by the tailgate.
