Fast720
Hi got some stuff done in the last couple of days , some truck and some shop . made a list !!! OMG , worked on the front sway bar . put new links in to see where I was with clearing the oil pan and steering shaft to the rack nothing too exciting , sure is nice to be rid of all that extra steering crap !!!! , also if anyone wants the old stuff they can have it foe free , I have 2 720 steering box's one power ( with pump and factory lines ) and one manual Also got really annoyed with too much stuff in my way and decided to do something about it , had buckets of short crops and always moving them and digging through them to find some piece.the problem the solution When you have a small shop its hard enough to fit everything in ,it can get out of control fast .Should be some big changes coming , going to order some parts this week, I will be concentrating on the big items in the next few weeks , so stay tuned in. 3 Quote Link to comment

Fast720
Hi update , not my truck but close , my car hauler ,and I have been wanting to install a winch for a while , so I finally got around to it today.I set it up on a receiver hitch so I don't have to leave it on the trailer ,in the bad weather & less chance of it being ripped off. Sorry its a little boring, but I don't always pick stuff up that runs and a come along is a pain in the butt !!!!! And also put some spring loaded pins on the ramps no more bolts to loose 3 Quote Link to comment

anth
Love your fabrication and welding. I especially enjoy seeing clean mig welds, gives me something to aspire to (unlike tig which is out of my realm). 1 Quote Link to comment

Fast720
Update , more changes ..........yes rear suspension again , decided to move the shocks inboard , mostly because I intend on driving my truck everyday , here it rains a shit load in the winter , and some other clearance issue's Sorry I tried to post pics and it didn't work for some reason , it wont let me paste anything , am I doing something wrong ? so you will have to go to www.datsunminitruckin.com 1 Quote Link to comment
Fast720
Update ......well making changes again !!!!! yes rear suspension for the last time , I fully intend on driving my truck everyday , and here where we live it rains a lot in the winter and having all the linkage and shocks in the muck all the time was going to be a hassle in the long run. so its still going to be cantilevered but the shocks ( different ones) will be inside the frame rails , also there were some issues with clearance. My handy hold up the hub helper I made this tube notcher a few years ago , I needed one and nobody had any ,so I made my own, some drill rod and delrin bushing and some scrap Aluminum . Made an adapter for smaller hole saw bits http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/af341/philinvic720/IMG_0321_zps991a43fe.jpg"/> 1 Quote Link to comment

wayno
I am sorry if I gave you the impression that you post to many photos, I didn't mean to say anything like that, post lots of photos, I get most of my ideas from photos that others post. And I thought maybe Wayno complained that I was posting too many pics and plugging up the inter Web thingy ................... Sometimes I have complained in the past about files being to large and locking the page up, but that hasn't happened in a long time. 1 Quote Link to comment

wayno
It is likely that this truck is so fast that it will scare you Charlie, at least if your the passenger. I had a car like this when I was a kid, my sister went for a ride in it, she never got in it again, and her boyfriend had a fast car, but it wasn't nearly as fast as my 65 Nova was, it was like being on a fast motorcycle, it pinned one in the seat when I gave it the gas, I was never beat off the line, and I only lost one race, it was a 65 Malibu that barely beat me, he caught up with me the last few yards, he would not lift the hood after the race was over, I wish I had a photo of that Nova of mine, the engine tore it apart, it was making all sorts of strange noises at the end. That engine likely had 12 to 1 compression ratio or higher, I seriously doubt that the engine would have run on the pump gas of today. All I can say is, "I WANNA RIDE!" 3 Quote Link to comment
Z chopper
look at his username Fast720 that should say it all. I remember one car that belonged to a friend of mine an old 'Cuda that had a built Hemi under the hood and it twisted the frame so bad when he first started it, it was classified as a write off non repairable so he pulled the engine and trans and planted it in a '67 Dodge 1/2 ton truck, it blew the doors off anyone who even thought of challenging. 2 Quote Link to comment

Fast720
Update Thanks for all the positive feedback , it's hard to work all day and find the energy to keep going , so looking forward to driving this again. Built a tool for lining up my hubs while building new suspension parts. Some nice new parts should be here tomorrow , that's also inspiring . Bolts onto the Axle Flange centered This should help establish a base line ,got tired of continually measuring where I was 2 Quote Link to comment

Fast720
Update , got a little more done , tricky stuff making all new control arms and shock mounts ,I made yet another tool , this one to hold up the end of my hub locating tube , lots of weight on it and I was surprized how much the diff flange moved. Also took my QA1's apart I was hoping to shorten them but they are twin tube , so I will be looking for some shorter ones. started making all the pieces for the new cantilever system and shock carrier. More to come stay tuned in , 1 Quote Link to comment
