Datsun fan
I've 70 Amp stock alt, it's should be from A series motor I'm not sure .The question is: How to wire it and keep/check the feature that when start the engine the alt will NOT be on until engine revs 2000 RPM or so ? Quote Link to comment
ppeters914
I have a 70A Chevy alt in my roadster, which doesn't charge 'til I kick it over 2k rpm. No special wiring, it's just how it works. You sure you need to do anything? Quote Link to comment
Datsun fan
My friend told me I can uninstall the charge warning bulb in the dashboard and the feature will be on. Is that correct/safe ??? Is there another way to check ?? Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
Datsun fan You have to tell us the year of your car and what car is it. was this a early model that had a external voltage regulator?? and now you want to intall a Alternator with a INTERNAL voltage regulator??????? If YES then you would short out the wires where the external voltage regulator was and this would make the light go out and energize the alternator. Just make Jumper wires and inset in to the plug where the old volt reg plugged into. maybe soembody can post this as I cant post photos anymore. this is for a 70-72 Datsun 510. but most datsun colors are the same. But remember if you have a eleltrical choke this might not be good. http://datsun510.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=124&size=big&papass=&sort=1 Quote Link to comment

This is what I did (yeah, it's a Chevy alt into a roadster, but the principle is the same): http://www.311s.org/pmwiki-311/pmwiki.php?n=TechSection.LateThreeWire Or follow Hainz's instructions to jump the regulator circuit.
