Clock/C light wiring

Recommended Posts

OK I have Daewoo digital clock with courtesy light (one piece)

Courtesy light has 3 bottons: ON,OFF,DOOR

Digital clock has 4 bottons: H,M,D,S and I know H is for hour setting, M is for minute

setting .What do D and S bottons stand for?

The clock + c light mirror console (the whole thing) has 2 connectors:

4-wire connector:

RED PWR to keep clock memory, open door/ON botton bulb power +

RED/WHT stripe IGN switch PWR to turn clock digits on (cool green digits)

WHT Door open switch NEG open door bulb NEG

BLK GND or NEG clock NEG,ON botton bulb NEG

1-wire connector: A GREY WIRE goes to circuit board inside then to one-way diode then

500 KOhms resistor then small capacitor then to the CHIP, Anybody has an idea about the

role of that wire ? Anyway one-way diode indicates that grey wire is either + in or - out

Can this wire be for dimming feature? How to check?

I tried to feed that Grey wire with + and the clock dimmed a little,I think that Grey wire

should be connected to interior/instruments cluster lights switch so that when the driver switches on the clock will dim and will not bother him looking to the middle mirror,Am I right?

How about D and S buttons, what are they for ?
