My 510 is going bye-bye, for real this time.

Recommended Posts

The time has come for me to temporarily leave the 510 scene. I know I've talked about it before, but I'm actually selling it this weekend, to a member on here(turnrightracing). I got accepted to University of Utah for fall 2010, and I won't be able to bring the car out there with me. I could, but it's very illogical to have a project car when you're 2000 miles from home with no garage. The flipside is leaving it here, where it wouldn't be driven, or enjoyed, and I know that my mom doesn't want it taking up garage space. Jeff, who's buying it, is going to give it a new home, and has the means, time, and money to make it what it deserves to be.

I'm sure I'll buy another one down the road, but now just isn't the time. Figured I'd let you guys know. :crying:

Well, better used than rusting away, and congrats on getting into school! Remember to say "Good mormon to you!" to everyone you meet in Utah! :D By the way, Miller Motorsports Park isn't too far away there, lots of good racing.

I'll take pictures of it tomorrow morning for you guys. I'm going to be buying a friend of a friend's rx7 that is pretty finished so that I'll still have a car to drive/track/enjoy without having to put money into.

I know I'm going to regret having done this, based on all the shit I'm already getting from friends/family about selling it. I'm definitely not doing this for the money, I'm doing it for the car. I'd hate myself for it if I left it at home and it just died away, which is why I'm giving it to another 510 guy.

Glad to hear you have your priorities figured out. You'll find another dime when the time comes. I'm sure someone here will help hook you up. Who knows, maybe you'll find a nice 510 in Utah while your there. Just don't be a stranger. Good luck in school.

Thisisastickup,

Thought I would chim in. I was in your situation about a year ago. I moved to Utah about 1 year ago from Seattle when I got excepted to the U of U. I am studying architecture and trying to enter thier program soon. What are you going to study at the U? When I left home I had 2 510's at my folks place. I have since sold one to a guy in Australia and still have the 73. It is sad, it just sits. I have been contomplating bringing it here but the place I am at now doesn't have the room. I am looking for a better place. I have only met 2 510 guys here at a small meet. Last week while walking to class at the U I thought I heard a familiar sound (you know, the unmistakable sound of an L16) So I turned around and sure enough an orange 510 drives past leaving a big smile on my face. Not many here so it was nice to see. You had a nice 510. You should find one here and dd it to school. Best of luck at the U. Maybe we will run into eachother. Dave
