datsunaholic
You have to take the transmission off first... What kind of "problem" are you having? The post is very vague. Quote Link to comment
72240z
lmao Guys......If he doesn't know lefty loosy righty tighty or that the transmission comes off 1st the best advice would be to go to a mechanic lol. Quote Link to comment
cbattey224
HAHA not that funny umm... i got it off. the problem was when i took the pressure plate off the clutch plates didnt just come off the were stuck on the flywheel even when i pulled on them. the local shop has a clutch kit for 110 is that good or could i get away with just clutch plates Quote Link to comment
hang_510
HAHA not that funny ... yeah it is!!! get the kit! youre gonna need ALL of the pieces for the install. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
If it's stuck to the flywheel you're gonna want a new one anyway, because it's likely rusted to the flywheel. And you pry it off with a crowbar when that happens. Quote Link to comment
hessianben
not a bad idea to get a new matching flywheel also... ...actually, it's a very good idea. if the previous clutch plates were worn, the flywheel may not be flat, and will cause your new clutch to fail early. cbattey224
it was worn but did have some clutch left on it. is there anyway i could get away with just doing the clutch plates im tight on money at the moment. Quote Link to comment
72240z
Resurface the flywheel buy a clutch. Quote Link to comment
I'm BLUE
Resurface the flywheel buy a clutch. +1 , clutches are cheap enough to just buy a new cheap set for $95-$130 , might want to consider doing input shaft seal on the tranny as well while your in there ( clean out bellhousing with gas as well so crap doesn't get on the clutch ) , don't skimp on installing the new pilot bearing either from the new set. Money's tight all over. Quote Link to comment
ppeters914
OPTION 1: Spend the money now (aka do it right the first time) OPTION 2: Jury rig with old parts, wait for it to break down at the worst time, and have to drop the trans and redo it. Decisions...decisions..... Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Well it's like "crime doesn't pay" (it can if not caught) it only applies when you take short cuts. Knowing this can prevent you from taking the short cut in the first place. Nothing wrong with a short cut but after too many that bit me in the ass I now take a harder look at it.
