Guest DatsuNoob
What makes you think yours is bad? It looks like it's been tampered with. My idle jumps around erratically and I get a popping through my intake like it's retarded even though timing is set. I noticed today after a trip to the parts store the cover fell off and looks to have been resealed and zip-tied at one point. I honestly dont know if thats the specific problem since sensor related electrical crap isnt my area of strength, but I figured it may be a place to start. Link to comment

Thanks for the offer on the header too, but I was able to fix mine (I think... hope it holds :D). Link to comment
72240z
Ah ya, sounds like maybe your right. So many people try and adjust those afm's and totally screw them up. See if shaking it changes the idle. From what I know the 280z and zx afms are different although they look almost identical. I've sold both, one(zx) is physically heavier and has more internals. Whether you can interchange them idk for sure, thats just my experience with them. Link to comment
Bleach
I think its best to stick with a closer year AFM. 1975-76 for best results. Link to comment
SHADY280
just adjust yours first, undo the screw for the big cog, then tighten it up a few teeth, this will lean it out. Link to comment
240ADAM
I have one from my 75. 10 bucks, let me know! Link to comment
datzenmike
... My idle jumps around erratically and I get a popping through my intake like it's retarded even though timing is set. Dude check your valve clearance right now! Bet you have a tight valve. Link to comment
