panheadpete Posted November 29, 2009 Report Share Posted November 29, 2009 Hi There I live in mountainous British Columbia.Well low and behold if one day my neighbor had a Nissan towed in. after inspecting his find it had a v8 in it with a 350 turbo. I was stunned, had heard of and seen a few vegas with the v8. It sat for at least 5 months never moving till one day I saw him taking off the tires and inquired. Seems he was gonna scrap it so I offered him a hundred and rest is history. How anyone could drive it was beyond me. The four barrels choke would come on and stay on after it warms up, and the Carter electric pump would not pump enough to keep it filled. So I buy another pump and mount it where the last one was on the fire wall still not enough pressure. I know I'll try to mount it close to where my old mga had its. After disconnecting the choke and mounting two pumps in tandem Wow. The 411 gearing launchs the thing like a rocket and r200 rear seems to take it in stride. I'm getting on in age and must say that young women are waving, sorta exciting to say the least. Even toke the x for a ride lucky it has headrests.Anyway after stumbling on to your'e site I was very impressed with the freindly manner of the members. Other sites were somwhat rude as I don't now all the terms for the Datsuns like the differentail I called a transaxle and such. However I have intent to upgrade till its my machine and this is the place for help to do that. Would like to thank the members here for their patience and help. Needless to say I am excited.My next trip on it was to put in a 700r but I hear they are not so good. Presently am negotiating for a overdrive unit from a 400 turbo. I know this aint a chevy site but I hope it will fit a 350 turbo with only minor alterations. If I am off course please steer my straight.Love the stories. It helps to have a bit of thick skin sometimes because if you ask for peoples honest opinions here thats exactly what youl get :D and most importlantly, Ratsun's a bunch of picture whores. your about to get picture demands in 3...2...1.... :lol: Quote Link to comment
