1hr40minlate
I was wondering... If the 521 in it's early days had the J13 in it and then later had the L16 in it did Datsun change the chassis or just make a different motor mount? If Datsun did make a different bolt in motor mount for the 521 L16 could I use it in my 520 to bolt in an L20? My goal with my 520 mods is to have everything be bolt in so that later if I want to change it back to stock or upgrade I can do so with a wrench instead of a cutting torch. Thank you! 1hr40 Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
The motor mount perch is different. That's the part welded to the frame. The 520 chassis is slightly different from the 521, but most of the differences are in sheet metal (cab). Quote Link to comment
1hr40minlate
Thanks! I will try to fabricate a mount that will use the 520 "perch" My first mod will be to swap out the rear end. From what I can tell it is a bolt in swap between the 620 and 520. I don't care if I am not as quick and long as I can go faster. 1hr40 Quote Link to comment

pope_face
Same thing, you need to hack off the stock perches and reweld them... Quote Link to comment
