Just picked up a 1200.

I sold my 510 in 1999 so I'm on hunt for a 510

but I ran into this

 

 

Guys just pick this beater up today.

for 1300 plus towing

car came with a

4pt roll cage

3 motors

extra something racing head.

coilovers

fuel cell

light weight old school wheels.

and body that will need some care.

 

Not sure if this was a good score.

Tried to figured out if it is in fact a GX head

Looks like you found the spot. There is a ton of 1200 info over there. I would be surprised if someone over at 1200.com doesn't recognize your car.

Yes, i recognize the car. It was for sale in the East bay last month. A smokin' deal. I bought some parts two years ago from the same guy.

 

The only way to confirm the head is a genuine GX head to remove it, because there are no unique casting numbers (as far as we know). Remove the intake manifold and if it has ports that are a lot bigger than an A14 there's a good chance it is a GX head.

Oval - GX 30x34.5 - 36 mm

Oval - large (A14) 28x34 mm

The best factory head for Datsun A engine is from the A12 GX. The hottest production camshaft is from the same, hotter than any A14 or A15 head or cam.

update! final the beast is awakened. Its amazing that this car can still run after sitting outside since 1992

Will do. Shes running fine now would like to take it for a spin but the clutch is shot.
