SU carbs, what to look for

Hi all.

I'll be heading out to a couple yards in the next few days that I know keeps some older stuff. I know of one with at least three or four old 620s.

The next area on the 620 I just bought that I want to go over is the carb. This means I either what to rebuild the hitachi thats on it, or switch it out for something else. I'll be near a few older Volvos, which got me into looking at SU carbs. But I can't find much info on the swap. ( SU is too short for the search so my searches keep getting bounced back )

So in short>

What am I looking for in a replacement carb for a L20?

What SU carbs work best?(that is, from what vehicles)

Are SU even worth it? SU vs Weber

thanks all.

Weber is easier to mount with a single adapter. Can be jetted to give good performance and reasonable economy. SU need an sss or custom manifold for the L series but are infinitely tuneable. Good running and great economy when 'dialed in'.
