izzo Posted October 5, 2009 Report Share Posted October 5, 2009 yes, i recommend you replace it :lol: any L series pump should work, i believe the naps oil pump works too. i heard the later 90s frontier pickup with the KA engine used the same pump but it pumped more volume. might be a better option Quote Link to comment
datzenmike Posted October 6, 2009 Report Share Posted October 6, 2009 If you are replacing it anyway, get the high volume pump from any KA24E from any '89 or '90 240sx or any D21 Hardbody or WD-21 Pathfinder with a 4 cylinder engine from '86.5 through at least 2000. All 4 cyl Xterra. No way to tell from the outside without taking it off but the internal rotors are 14% longer giving more volume. This translates to increased pressure at idle/low speed. Full pressure depends on the relief valve spring which can be changed or shimmed. With no other change but the high volume pump my 300,000Km L20B went from a 17 pound hot idle oil pressure to 29 pounds!. Quote Link to comment
