cbr600rx7
Well this is going to be a major noob question but is the weber worth it? Are there any other mods that need to be done to help support the new carb. And what should i expect driving it? Better MPH? Power? Response? And how is it when it comes time to dial it in? 1974datsun
if i were you id throw the carb on and tune it, and after that leave it alone, what kind of engine is in your 521 Quote Link to comment
cbr600rx7
A rebuilt L16 and the stock 4 speed. I dont have any real big plans for the truck right now just restoring the body and bed and cleaning up the inside. But the Stock Fish Bowl thing has seen better days and i think it needs to be rebuilt any way  Quote Link to comment
cbr600rx7
I have swaped carbs out before and this one looks to be easyer then most but as far as getting it tuned in that is a diffrent story. I guess i am saying i dont want to spend 300 bucks on the weber then have to spend 500 more to get then thing dialed in on the dyno. Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
Just get the right Weber for your motor. By this I mean a DGEV Weber. Quote Link to comment
yello620
Weber is completely worth it. You will need to get a jet kit also. The weber carb kits come jetted a little too big for a L16. There is a good read and some basic jetting numbers in an article on the Dime Quarterly. Quote Link to comment
cbr600rx7
Is this the correct one. And is Ebay a good source or is there some where else i should be looking. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DATSUN-521-L16-PICKUP-EMPI-32-36-DGEC-CONVERSION-KIT_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2em20Q2el1116QQhashZitem3a52330794QQitemZ250487179156QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Quote Link to comment
yello620
Thats an EMPI brand carburator, NOT a WEBER. They may look and perform the same, may not also. I really dont know anything about the EMPI, just making sure you know it is not a Weber.:D They might even be very good copies or possibly even Weber's in an EMPI box? Quote Link to comment
cbr600rx7
I rather not take the chance where is a good place to pick one up at? Quote Link to comment
