73super
Can you give me a good source for an engine rebuild kit? Say for an L20? Thx. Butch Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
"kit"? You can get the full gasket set at any parts store. The rings and bearings will be separate, you can get timing "kits" (chain, guides, tensioner, sprockets), valves and rockers are separate (and not easy to find good ones- do NOT buy american made L-series rockers). 73super
yeah, you used to be able to get a complete "kit" for the engine rebuild. Included most everything. I'll see if I can hunt it down. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
I'm pretty sure those haven't been around for 10-20 years. I never found one in '92 when I rebuilt my first L16. The main reason is that you need to know the oversize for the main bearings, rod bearings, and pistons/rings which will all be different. Unless everything is standard. This isn't a Chevy, they don't make ready-to go kits for these. Quote Link to comment

73super
Heads up.. Rock Auto has a closeout on brake shoes (for those of you who haven't converted to disc). I just ordered 2 sets (8 shoes) for my 620 @ $7.70 a set. Just thought I'd pass it along. Not many left. :D Quote Link to comment

banzai510(hainz)
Your 620 has a L20 in it? I thought 73 was a L18 or maybe still a L16. Quote Link to comment
73super
The '73 originally had a L16.. yes, that's what mine had.. but the next one will be a L20.. and I've got a good lead on a motor that I may pickup.. we'll see. Right now I'm just collecting some parts for a future project. :D Quote Link to comment
