kiznook
some pics I took, then promptly forgot about. I think it was a 23? model T, don't really remember. Pretty neat setup. Check out the motor mounts. IIRC this car has been on craigslist for a while too, unless that was a different car for the same price. Quote Link to comment
nismopu
rubber caster wheels make great engine mounts, according to the owner of this car. He traded a 60's plymouth fury for this thing and now he wants 7500? I dont know about that. He fired it up for us at the swap meet and it sounded pretty good, fairly quiet too for just a straight pipe. peace. Quote Link to comment
BEEBANI
I've seen that thing on cl a few times, didn't think it actually ran and drove. Quote Link to comment
kiznook
Thats no straight pipe...there's a big sexy supertrapp on there. nice fresh napa alternator too...that's gotta be worth $7500. I think it uses a datto radiator too Quote Link to comment
tnip
the pictures don't show much of the body but i would assume it's a 'glass body. i haven't been super diligent with keeping up with prices of rods like this, but if it does in fact run and stop then 7500 is a pretty middle of the road price. kiznook
actually it looked to be all metal. Which would make it worth quite a bit given today's market. Funny part is there's fields all across america with old cars burried and overgrown, some of which in better shape than the stuff you see for sale on craigslist. Quote Link to comment
tnip
damn, if it's all metal then 7500 is not bad at all. i know what you mean, there's tons of good metal all over the place that's worth tons but people either don't think it's worth anything to don't want to part with the memories... or they think they can get more for it. i went to look at a nice 61 falcon. it was a four door, and it was 3 on the tree, both of which i didn't want, but the body looked really good and it ran fine, so why not?... i found the bill of sale in the glovebox where the guy had bought it two years earlier for like 1800 bucks... i called him, he wasn't home, he wanted like 8 grand for it. i said, when did you buy this? gave me the same date as on the bill of sale i had in my hand. i said what have you done to it since you've owned it? he hadn't done anything to it, just let it sit there for a couple years and now all of a sudden it's worth 4x what he paid for it. whatever. yello620
There was an orange one similar to that years ago in newberg, OR. Was actuall all built on a truck chassis and was still using the torsion bar suspension and also had an L series motor. It was running an all glass body though. Wish i had taken pics of it. Remember it from about 1989/90. Jason Quote Link to comment
Steroid
Here is a link to a local run in 2005. This was Funtana's 1st show and Their pictures were taken (poorly) before the flames were laid on the next day. http://www.rivercruizers.com/events/Roddin-2005/cars/index.htm But look what was also there..................... The owner was very cool, knew His stuff on L series motors and said the car is so light that it "floats" at around 95 to 100, so He hasn't had it higher than that. With a 5 speed, He said He would race ANY car there for the first 200 feet, and WOULD WIN. Quote Link to comment
