4.0 liter Nissan V6

Suzuki is now selling a pickup with a 4 liter Nissan V6. Oh the swapping possibilities!

Use which ever is cheaper. Unfortunately I don't think it will fit in an S30, and doubtfully a dime. They're TALL

VQ35 has already be been put in both.

 

I don't know if the deck height was increased when going from 3.5 to 4 liter.

 

But Brian Crower makes some crazy parts for it.

Stock vq30de 95.5mm Bore x 81.4mm Stroke - 8.440" Block Height

 

The Vq49de stock Bore and stroke are 95.5

The VQ35DE has been put in both and the deck height is shorter than the VQ40 or it's little brother the VQ35HR (they increased deck height in order to obtain a better rod/stroke ratio for more efficiency). The HR motor *should* fit in the Z, though on HBZ there is talk of having to fit a more compact plentum to make it fit.

 

I'm all for this swap, displacement rocks, it just may not be as cut and dry as the VQ35DE swap.

It would only be a 4.5mm over bore. But that is still pretty big.
