MikeRL411
Suzuki is now selling a pickup with a 4 liter Nissan V6. Oh the swapping possibilities! Quote Link to comment
DAZE752
thinks they have for a while the suzuki equator Quote Link to comment
Cuts metal like mad
Yep! Equator, its just a rebadged frontier. Quote Link to comment
yellowdatsun
Why wouldn't you just use the 4 liter out of the Frontier? Quote Link to comment
MAG58
Use which ever is cheaper. Unfortunately I don't think it will fit in an S30, and doubtfully a dime. They're TALL Quote Link to comment
dimedriver
VQ35 has already be been put in both. I don't know if the deck height was increased when going from 3.5 to 4 liter. But Brian Crower makes some crazy parts for it. http://www.briancrower.com/makes/nissan/vq35de.shtml "The BC stroker kit for the Nissan VQ35DE engine platform incorporates a 88mm stroke, steel billet crank, BC 4340 Pro Series Billet rods rated to 1200+ horsepower. Depending on bore size that you decide, the BC kit will take you up to a 4.15L with 100mm bore. As usual, each BC kit features custom CP aluminum forged pistons, 9310 alloy wrist pins, ring pack and buttons. Available in any desired bore and compression ratio for use in turbo or normally aspirated." Stock vq30de 95.5mm Bore x 81.4mm Stroke - 8.440" Block Height The Vq49de stock Bore and stroke are 95.5 Quote Link to comment
MAG58
The VQ35DE has been put in both and the deck height is shorter than the VQ40 or it's little brother the VQ35HR (they increased deck height in order to obtain a better rod/stroke ratio for more efficiency). The HR motor *should* fit in the Z, though on HBZ there is talk of having to fit a more compact plentum to make it fit. I'm all for this swap, displacement rocks, it just may not be as cut and dry as the VQ35DE swap. Quote Link to comment
Cuts metal like mad
12mm overbore? Quote Link to comment
dimedriver
It would only be a 4.5mm over bore. But that is still pretty big. -Avery Quote Link to comment
