Jester
Do a search for the internally regulated alternator. That way you can do them both at the same time. :D BTW, Welcome to Ratsun. Quote Link to comment
5tinguy
Your battery could have a bad cell and causing your charging system to over charge. Quote Link to comment

banzai510(hainz)
on a 521 its near the fuse box but up and under the passenger fender well and should look like a 6 pin connector. I think 5 wires are only used. now if it overvolts then its the volt reg should look like this one below in photo. Get a solid state one if possible Wells brand or sold thru carquest. or a Jap made mechanical one. The ones from Napa Suck and are made in USA units. the smaller one is a solid state one. taller mechanical. note the connector and u shoul be able to find this. I just run a standard size 24 battery or whatever it needs. Im hoping the volt reg connector is standard as later 521 but I have seen different set up on the alternators themselves so always make sure on a alternator swap everything can swap as I have seen differnt set up on the ealy model of the 521 and early 510s get a cheezy volt meter for a few bucks and plug in cig lighter so you catch this next http://www.amazon.com/Equus-3721-Battery-Charging-Monitor/dp/B000EVWDU0?&camp=212361&creative=391349&linkCode=waf&tag=online0a-20 Edited September 14, 2009 by banzai510(hainz) Quote Link to comment

Guest Rick-rat
My battery was boilng for about 2 weeks, when the battery exploded it made a hell of a mess and did some body damage to the hood. Mine was a bad voltage regulator and a battery with a shorted out cell Quote Link to comment
