Jayden71
Everybody has screwed up once or if yer like me 100's of times in their life. The question is, can you share those experiences with yer fellow Ratsuners?? I will share one of my dumbass experiences first... So a few days ago I posted some pics of my Datsun up on the semi flatbed trailer. Everything went fine with the Datto. I went to pick up the Freightliner from La Grande in my wifes Honda. Loaded it on the flatbed and came home. I was using a dirt ramp next to the RR tracks here in town to unload it. I got the rearend off the trailer just fine. I had to gun it just a little to get the front onto the ramp. It was about a 6 inch height difference. When I did that the front bumper caught a piece of angle iron sticking out of the ground and almost ripped off the front bumper... The best part about the whole thing is, the watched it happen and she aint too happy. $700 to replace bumper!!! I felt like a dumbass:o Lets here your stories! Quote Link to comment
OpelWagenGT
My parents own a zenn electric car that is an aluminum frame with all plastic pannels. I drive it around a lot because it costs me nothing to drive. So, I was leaving my girlfriends house late one night and went to back up to turn around. (this car backs up very fast if it wants to) I backed up way to fast because I was tired and didn't look behind me thinking I had gone through this routine a thousand times on her street. Sure enough I backed full on into a big white chevy truck. Put a small dent in the truck that the owner didn't care about because it was a work truck. As far as the zenn it shattered the drivers side tail light assembly, bent it also, shattered the rear bumper, and broke a large piece out of the left rear quarter pannel. So now I have paid $300 of the $1500 I owe my parents for the damage. I still hate myself for that....:( I did get to take my drivers test in this car and that was awesome! I got a 96 Edited August 15, 2009 by OpelWagenGT Quote Link to comment
Nissan_Boy85
Most recent thing, double sealed a oil filter and blew 2.5 qurats of 5W 30 onto the driveway Quote Link to comment
woodside4032
A couple years back I came home to find someone half blocking my driveway. This tends to piss one off. Especially if you don't recognize the car. If it's a neighbors car a slight tap of the horn usually remedies the situation. Well I didn't recognize the car so I tried the horn. Then I tried the horn again and a few times after that. No one came. So my dumbass hastily positions to back in my overly laden f150. Despite the fact that I actually had enough room to make it, I proceeded to crunch the front driverside fender and lights of my sons CRX. To top things off, my neighbors from across the street were out on their front porch and gave me the old thumbs up. Moral of this story is try not to back in when your angry. Oh and use your mirrors. Quote Link to comment
moparvwfreak
about a MONTH after i got my licence, i totalled my wifes 74 Mercury. i had just been suspended from school, over a shirt i had warns for YEARS, and was not a happy camper. to boot the starter was on its way out so that added to my anger. needless to say i tooka corner WAY to fast after it had just rained. speed + wet roads + me being pissed off = a totalled Comet. the funny part was, neither she nor her mom were pissed. they both chocked it up to a learning experience. but i still feel stupid every time i think about it. Rubberman
As you can see on my build thread I put that nice shiney newly built motor in her, well couldn't wait to hear her run. Had everything hooked up (so I thought) cranked her up and she fired right up after I got the gas flowing thru the lines. I had not put the exhaust on yet and it was just the open header. I made some noise and damn it sounded loud but good. Cut it off and was happy as hell until I heard some kind of fluid hitting the floor. Went to the front and oil was pouring out of the passenger side of the motor. This is what I get for being so impatient. I forgot to put the oil gauge plug in the side of the motor and oil was everywhere. I about cried. If I could have jumped out of my body, I would have beat the shit out of myself. Lets just say it took me awhile to clean all that oil off everything on the passenger side frontend. I'm a dumbass sometimes (well alot of times) and I admit it. Quote Link to comment

Guest DatsuNoob
Junior yr in HS, cruising around with my gf. A combination of hormones and stupidity led me to attempt drifting my 86 Merc Lynx XR3 (escort gt) around the corner of Target at the south hill mall on wet pavement. I was showing off, and started sliding. As I rounded the corner, there was a brand new Mustang parked on the curb less than 20 feet in front of me. I had 2 options, rear end the stang, or turn hard into the curb to stop my slide and miss the car. I chose the latter. Curbed it. Smashed the passenger side rim, blew the tire, and bent most of the passenger susp components to shit. Got her dad to fix it while I helped. Good learning experience, both fixing cars, and to not be such a dumbass in the future. Quote Link to comment
