Got License Plates?

Earlier this year I renovated my garage to look like a vintage work shop/show room so my Datsuns would have a place worthy to call home.

 

I have a lot of old stuff (street signs, working traffic light, parking meter, hwy signs) on the walls, hanging from the rafters, and standing in corners. I have a nice License plate collection started as well. I am trying to get one license plate from every state from 1974 or before. Since people from all over the nation are part of this forum I thought this would be a good place to pop in and ask.

I have 1 plate from all but 2 rigs I have ever owned. All labled and hanging on the garage wall. :D

I found a like new 73 Georgia tag (called a tag here) at a yard sale. It will go on my 240 when it is done. Here in GA we can re register vintage plates if they are in good condition and actually use it on your car. I've also got a couple of Red white & blue "DATSUN" front tags that I keep on the 620 and ZX.

 

I hate to say it, but if I find a good one from the 70's I'll probably keep it. Now if I find one that is well used I'll send it your way.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I am kind of anal about the pre '74 thing.

 

To me it kind of makes a statement about the California Smog Law.

I misread your first post...the plates I have are from the 80's. Sorry. GL with finding some. I know of this website I think is called plt8s.com google it, the guy has some good one from every year.

I have a California Horseless Carriage plate, I beleive they were issued from 1970 through 1983 and can only be used on pre 1922 vehicles, It still has a 1979 sticker on it.
