datzenmike
Exhaust manifold... likely ok just burning off excess fuel. Intake manifold... Plug wires crossed, over advanced, lean condition. Quote Link to comment
FoxyRoadster
like occasional fireball? Thats normal if out the exhaust like datzenmike said. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Yep it's normal to have flames come out (not really a fireball). Now you know why the exhaust pipe gets so hot... Quote Link to comment
HRH
Hehe, you should see it when you run engines on the stand at a wrecking yard.:D Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Hehe in my days at the wrecking yard we didn't have stands. We just set em on the ground and let 'em rip. Wern't many luxuries back then. You could run em for a few seconds, just long enough to verify no knocks and no smoke. Quote Link to comment
HRH
Yeah, back at Spaldings, there was a stand, used to run them on brake cleaner. Works pretty well. They run them for about 30 seconds though. Quote Link to comment
