'72 1200 coupe

Recommended Posts

I aquired this car a few months ago. It was my neighbors car in high school and eventually he lost his license and let his life go down the drain. So the car sat in his back yard. He was eventually evicted from the house and his nephew moved in. The car was deemed abandoned and the new owners of the house said "if you can get it out of the yard you can have it". So that is how I came about having my first datto. And yes the title for the car is in my name :)

cool car. you can tell that the guy who own it at one time was totally into the car. what are your plans? it already comes with a cool side draft carb.

As far as plans this is what I have already done

-dropped the fuel tank and replaced all rubber lines including the filler neck (because it was broken)

-sanded and re-clear coated the shift knob

-put a b210 steering wheel on it because the stock one was disintegrating

-took all the bondo off the right rear fender flare

-POR15 on all the rust and primed

-started it up :) (that was exciting)

-drained and removed the radiator for cleaning and testing

-removed almost all the brake parts

-Had a key made because the original one was lost and to my content it fits everything on the car :0

-bought a set of wheels and tires (from sixty nine dime) to get the thing moving

-started painting the cragars, white centers with gold lips

-ordered just about everything to get this car running and it's all scheduled to be here by August 1st

haha so the story behind those flares

the ones in the front are legit fiberglass flares molded into the body but for the back ones...

they pulled the stock fenders then welded two more fender width pieces of metal on and use a ton of bondo to mold it in

B210 under, B110 comes out the hole:

But yes, those in the Opel1200 are put on wrong. I can imaging it stresses the body.

Put them under the sheet metal so the load is distrubuted evenly, not just at the bolt points.

what are you smoking!?!?! that is a good thing, lowered suspension without loss of shock travel! (win)

No i meant that sucks about the other stuff with the shock mounts turned upside down and all. and also, that i didn't notice the shock towers were raised. Misunderstanding is all.
