DRIVEN
It finally made it through processing and hit the yard. I posted it elsewhere a few weeks ago when I saw it at the auction (that's where the pic is from). No drive-train. Body is pretty rust free but rough. The trim is mostly there but has been painted over - including all 4 side "vents". Most interior is gone. Dash is complete but top is badly cracked. I snagged the TS switch and a door hinge. littlejason
Man, it drives me nuts when you finally see a car like this in the yard and there's nothing you can think of to buy. I'll probably go check it out anyway. Thanks for the info, driven. Quote Link to comment

I'll probably go check it out anyway. Thanks for the info, driven. I'd grab the front and rear glass if it's in one piece. 1200 windscreens are now mostly impossible to find new. Never hurts to have a spare, IMHO. Quote Link to comment
littlejason
Yeah, that's what I was thinking, glass! Good idea. That one looks like it has a pretty good wiper scratch though. Are the seals hard to find too? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Windscreen Seals for Datsun 1200 are easy to find. But they are like $200. I dare you to get that used seal out without breaking the windshield. If I was there I'd probably find a lot of parts to buy. Spent $75 on the last one LKQ st johns had, and that was after several other Ratsun guys went through it. Quote Link to comment
littlejason
I hear ya, gg, I do not accept your dare. But I'd cough up $200 for a seal if I had to. Is there anything I should grab for you? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
* Tunnel carpet, even a scrap so that I can match it. If it is the original checkered carpet. * Stock type muffler, if in good condition (1.5 inch inlet/outlet) * Driver's seat reclining mechanism cover (big round part) * Side window hinge covers (if you can remove them without breaking...) I remembered that carpet request after I left the yard -- sorry. I don't remember the carpet being there anyway. It had stock seats in it at the auction but they weren't bolted down. They are now gone. What are the hinge covers? Mine doesn't have those. Quote Link to comment
littlejason
yeah, chances are looking pretty slim... but I'm still going. Quote Link to comment
DRIVEN
Must be sedan only. My hinges are hidden behind the B-pillar cover that screws to the outside. You still need that squirter too? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
I found a squirter already, but wouldn't hurt to have extras, especially the clip that holds it on. Quote Link to comment
littlejason
yeah, ow, that looks dangerous. I don't think we can help you on this one. Quote Link to comment
DRIVEN
but wouldn't hurt to have extras That kind of thinking is the reason most of us have packed garages:D. I have "extras" for cars I don't even own yet...but I'm prepared. Quote Link to comment
KELMO
Those hinge cover are sedan only..... I'm looking for a fuel filler hose....sold mine to duncan before I realized the one in my coupe was the wrong one D'oh Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Kelmo, call Rod's Datsun Parts. Call by phone, don't email. He has a brand new coupe filler hose, genuine Nissan, and he was asking $45 at Canby. That's what the Nissan price was in Japan three years ago when I bought mine. Quote Link to comment
KELMO
Cool thanks for the up. Nissans price was more than that last I checked but was NLA. I'll call em Monday Quote Link to comment
exit64
I am still in need of a glovebox door. Is there a decent one on this car? Quote Link to comment
DRIVEN
As of Thursday it was not broken but looked to be very brittle and sun-baked. It looked like what was left of my original. Quote Link to comment
