sdsurf
Apparently I tightened my oil pan bolts to tight and now the gasket leaks. How hard is it to change the gasket with the motor in the truck? Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
if overtighten they can split the long ways. I know and didt the same thing. What I did is loosen the engine mount nuts that go to the mount. But keep them on. so motor can go back to normal position. I put a jack under the trans to raise the motor up as you need some space to drop the pan. a few inches. Now remove the old gasket and get the new one. Now youll have to stick it inbtween the engine block and pan and then soemhow get your SMALL hand under the pickup sump tube then your done and tighten it up to like 5-10 pounds.
