What does FRP actually stand for? I'm assuming a type of fiberglass. Years ago my car was in the Japanese mag Nostalgic Hero, and my box flares were listed as being FRP also.

That's what I was thinking, but it's odd because there's no plastic in it.

The epoxy that binds the fiberglass is a form of plastic.

That car is really cute. Looks like it should be in a disney movie. :D

Looks like a Kaiser Darren without the sliding doors. Wonder how many Datsun actually ran on the roads. Anyone from Japan who can check this out? Maybe at the Sagamihara museum?

Hmmmm looks like this:

Only about 20,000 made for JDM around '90. Powered by a MA10ET, a turbocharged 1.0 L (about 100hp) Eric Clapton had/has one.

Yes it reminded me of Nissan Pao but I didn't have a photo to compre it to. Good call.

How many did Datsun run on the road? It was a prototype, so probably few if any.

Here's the production Datsun Sports, not quite so low and sleek as the prototype?

The white car above is the fiberglass version, one of 20 made .

I own a couple of the production versions of the cars:

I'm so jealous of your roadster collection Dan! How do you find the time?

That is a real problem...I'm currently reassessing priorities and will be thinning out the collection. Anybody got an empty museum??

Wonder if there's some kind of tax shelter, like putting all the cars in a trust or something.

The Roadster showed at the 1958 LA Auto Show looked a bit different:
