Braden
personally i wouldnt go more than .030" over standard because then you are taking away from the reliability of your motor, thats just my opinion, there are lots of guys on here who can help you alot more than me Quote Link to comment
zed
Honsowetz says no more than .060". But I've seen an L18 motor advertised here bored out to 89mm - that's 4mm/.160" over stock. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Stock L20B bore is 85mm. You should easily be able to go 2mm (87mm) that's only 1mm (0.0394") of actual metal removed. Your thumb nail is about 0.030" so just imagine that much metal removed, hardly anything really. The trouble is, is there is no stock 87mm piston that will fit the L20B without having a custom one made or swapping cranks and rods. The stock L28 piston (86mm) will work and has a slightly smaller dish for slightly more compression Quote Link to comment
