RoadTug320
getting ready to fire up a J-15 motor for a 1965 L320. Found hot adjustments @ .010 anyone know what a good cold adjustment would be. The block was bored to 40 over block had .020 , head had .010 to deck them both. New at this online stuff as soon as I can get pic on here I'll share them. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
I would do this: Do it at full temp, like the nissan specs. Then after it cools done, the next day, check what the clearance has changed to. Then you'll know. That's a cast iron head, right? I would expect the cold gap to the same. With the A-engine (aluminum head) cold gap is 1/1000 smaller. Nissan originally published a cold spec, then changed it to hot spec. I guess the clearance adjustment is more consistent at the hot spec. Quote Link to comment
