kaoss
My junk yard only has one 510. It has a complete l16 in it. I need the exhaust and intake manifold for my 77 620 l20b. They quoted me 80 for both. That a good price? Is there a certain year that I wouldn't or would want these off? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
yellowdatsun
Your JY *ONLY* has one 510?!?!?! Out here in AZ if there was ONE 510 in a JY it would be stripped completely bare and have panels cut out of it in a couple days. Your lucky. As for the manifolds, I believe all the exhaust ones are the same, 4-into-2. The stock intakes are pretty small though, it it doesn't have the emissions junk on it, may be a safe bet. $80 for both seems a bit steep though. Unless you NEED them now, I'd check ebay and craigslist. $50 for the pair would be more in line. Quote Link to comment

Most if not all L20B use a single large outlet from the exhaust to the bolt on down pipe. The L16 has two smaller pipes that bolt to the down pipe. Quote Link to comment
kaoss
Mine has the big pipe, so I will need the down pipe also. I do want to get rid of all the emissions on my l20b. Quote Link to comment
b210in
80 bucks for both? forget that, you can get that shit here for about ten bucks on half day a pick a part. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The only thing that might remotely affect performance is the EGR which is easily deactivated. Leave any smog alone. There are only a few way to do this right any many ways to screw it up and cause endless trouble shooting problems. 1977 had very early smog equipment that didn't affect performance much. Primarily it allowed the engine to do what ever it wanted and then tried to clean up the mess. Now a days the smog equipment totally controls the engine to prevent pollution being produced in the first place. Your '77 should have a U-67 head on it. It's cast into the head below the #1 plug just above the block. The U-67 has square exhaust ports and are the best match to the square L16 exhaust manifold, check and see what you have. The L16 intake has smaller runners so better, would be one from any '78 or older L20B with the W-58 head. Quote Link to comment
Cuts metal like mad
$80 is not a bad deal, not a good deal, but not bad... its not gonna give you a whole lot of power, a little... will look better. Quote Link to comment
kaoss
I'm entirly after looks/room here. 2.5" stock floor body drop doesn't leave much room for stuff. I'm just looking for a temp solution before the KA24 goes in. I am also going to throw a weber 32/36 on it. Thanks for the help. Quote Link to comment
