72240z
Got it off. It's a damn mess under there! In my opinion that actually doesn't look bad at all. You could por15 over all that rust and have it looking top in no time. Next project is going to require some welding.. This on the other hand lol..... Quote Link to comment
Phirus
I used some rust stop on the bad spots for now. I'm not to worried about it all. When I have some money (never) I'm going to do a diamond blue spray job on the body, but keep the satin black rails. But seeing as that won't happen anytime soon (at all) I'll make her presentable for now. I figure with new grill and proper lights, rising sun hood job, take off and polish my valve cover, reinstall new shiny lines, pick up a weber, and some turtle wax, I can bring her to the local auto shows. Phirus
I'm thinking about adding some nerf bars.. Anyone ever seen them on a truck this small? Mainly interested because I'd rather bump off a tree than drag the side of the truck across it.. Plus my dad is a safety freak and says it may be the only thing to save you from a side impact crash in my damned tin can of a truck.... I dunno... Just a thought. Quote Link to comment
72240z
I have seen them on a 2d tracker if thats small enough lol. I really don't see them as adding that much protection though, would be hard pressed to find a car or truck low enough to hit that instead of you. Maybe if god forbid you slid sideways into something like an aforementioned tree. Even then though wouldn't the top tip into the tree anyway, busting your head up? Quote Link to comment
Phirus
Hell... whatever... I'll just make sure I get chrome ones so they look good :D My dad wont let me set this one up as a show truck so I'm gonna do what the hicks around here do! OFFROADER!! (but it still has to look good damn it) (gotta impress the women) (;)) Quote Link to comment
Phirus
Maybe if god forbid you slid sideways into something like an aforementioned tree. It's mainly for a semi frontal collision, proper nerf bars are shaped with a slant so that you kind of glance off whatever you hit. Quote Link to comment
Phirus
Will these fit on my truck? They're pretty damn wide. mags Quote Link to comment
impala_631
looking good, and i give the coffie can speakers  Quote Link to comment
Phirus
Thanks. They're actually subs! lmao It's 4:15 am here and I decided to get out of bed and get back to work. Just got done fighting the cowl back on... Painted the top of radiator and cap. Painted inside of headlight covers. Removed rust and painted front of truck (part under bumper). About to start bending the bottom thingy straight (whatever the turn lights are in, valice something like that, i dunno, im tired, and filled with beer.) Quote Link to comment

You should just go with a full outside roll cage then. Oh how much for that grill that came with it? Quote Link to comment
Phirus
30$ and you pay shipping. Or you can find me one with round headlights, then we can do an equal trade off. Parts train has new ones for 30$ (round headlights) But when I say I'm dead broke, I mean it. So basically, if you buy me a new grill and ship it too me (or send me one you have) then I'll scrounge up the money to send you this one. If that doesn't make any sense, sorry, I'm typing while tired.:P Quote Link to comment

Phirus
I don't think I'm gonna spin wheels like that with my little l20  I just wanna be safe on the trail, not climbing cliffs and stuff. Soon I'm going to put new shocks on and raise it up a bit. Some 15x8's underneath. I wanna look good on the street, but still get down the trail. It is a truck.. after all. Quote Link to comment
LCDC
Theres a toyota truck around here that has a full outer roll cage with a flat bed and for a toyota it looks bad ass. Quote Link to comment
Phirus
Damn it! I'm right in the middle of deciding whether to lower or higher the suspension... It'll be easier to convince my dad to let me raise it up. He's more into functionality than making it look good. I think I may turn this into a trail truck, but still make it look good :D I'll either buy the 710 or trick out the mercedes :D I get a little brain damages when I stay up.. Quote Link to comment

Phirus
First time I've heard santa... But I have heard Jesus, ZZtop guys with the beards (when he grows his out), and the most common are. Rob Zombie. And the present day Ted Nugent. He looks like Charlie Brown to me (our actual names) He's pretty well know in the gulf coast area, started alot of popular bands down there, hung out with the big guys, did stage and sound work at the civic center forever, worked with just about any big name bands from the 80's and 90's you can name. we're all musicians in the house. Thats my second hobby, apart from this damned truck. Quote Link to comment

Phirus
Found some 15's at the mill, they're trailer wheels from a big ass flatbed. I like them. Need some paint though. Then I rescued a baby chipmunk from my murderous cat. (she just kills them and doesnt eat them) (wasteful bitch) It got on stage with my biddy Harlen Go alvin! Then I got yelled at by a very mean looking baby bird in a rosemary bush. And THEN, I fell into the pit in the shop... Think I broke something in my foot, damn sure cracked my knee. 5 foot fall in the dark onto concrete. Fun day... Quote Link to comment
