inline4
when turning over, the car has a really high idle... of those who have done this swap, is this common? Quote Link to comment
WagDatto
How high is high? Check the throttle plate to make sure it's fully closed. I blocked off the IACV and used the throttle adjustment screw on the back of the TB to open the plate a little bit so my idle would be lower. I know a lot of people do that. Quote Link to comment

yellowdatsun
A bad idle air control valve (IAC) is very common on these engines. My 98' Frontier has one right now. I'd remove mine too if I didn't have to pass the OBD2 inspections. Quote Link to comment
WagDatto
I'm at work and cant find a pic to post for you. If you look at the throttle body, and see the throttle cable attaches to it, it's directly on the underside. You'll need (I think) a 8mm wrench to loosen it, and a small allen wrench to adjust the screw. It'll start to open the throttle plate as you adjust it open. Quote Link to comment
