I do not know what or how to put a photo in a URL. I have attempted several times to attach photos of the differences between Carb distributor with 27mm shank and the EFI distributor with a larger 35mm shank that then steps down to the 27mm shank. do I have to purchase a timing chain cover that would have the smaller 27mm shank to make this carb distributor work?

It's beginning to look like that is the better option. As I now recall, it was a KA engine that the L20B distributor would fit by drilling and tapping a new bolt hole.
I figured out how to post from my desktop almost 20 years ago, things have moved on since then with mostly hand held devices. I use a picture hosting site called imgur. You download your pictures there for storage and when you want them you copy the link and bring here to add to post. You can upload directly from your PC as long as the file is under 4k.
