    I'm back in the 411 game - WRL411

Those front seats are easily reupholstered. I did mine myself. A cursory glance seems to be that the foam bolsters are reusable, with the possible ingraft of the center section of the driver's seat. When I reupholstered my RL411 20 years ago, the then 30 year old bucket seat foam bolsters were perfect and need no TLC. The replacement vinyl was "wallaby" grain and was an exact match for the factory vinyl grain and color. So, any Kangaroo named replacement should be usable if not exact. One improvement that I made, the fabric on top of the metal springs is burlap. That's the brown crud on your floor. Burlap adds needed support to the seat bottom before it deteriorates. I added a sheet of the foam material that movers add between dish plates when packing for moving. DIY movers sell this in rolls and it is a cheap and firm way to save your soon to be too expensive recarpeting. It is also the exact size of the front seat cushion.

The heater hoses need to be rectified, you need a glass bowl and rag bag gas filter for authenticity, and black plastic under battery tray to complete the package. On the very plus side you have the complex heater intake manifold to water pump hose ! I have had to fabricate my replacements for a very long time. It is obvious that you have the British Borg Warner automatic transmission. Spare parts and complete rebuild kits are still available since this transmission is still in use in European cars. I am giving away a complete 4 wheel set of RL/WRL 411 wheels without the dog dish clips, so perfect for the RL/WRL411 at the September JCCS. If you or anyone you know will attend, it's first come first served. They will be stacked by my 1967RL411, probably the only one on exhibit, Turquoise color, license plate California "67RL411". You have a very good starter! Don't get frustrated, parts and help are out there! By the way, early VW heater hoses can be forced to fit the heater intake box water drain to ground that are missing on almost 410 and 411 sedans.

Looks like the Kawasaki Tony donated to the JSDAF at Irumagawa Air Base [ex Johnson Air Base] outside Tokyo. It was found in a packing crate in the corner of a hanger at Tachikawa Air Base. No markings, but a shipping order [in Japanese] attached. The base interpreter almost had a cow when he read to document. One complete Tony fighter including engine and instruments zero air hours to be shipped to Southern Japan as defense against B29 raids, abandoned in place at the time of surrender. Most local Japanese mechanics hired by Tachikawa used to work at the assembly plant "just down the road" that manufactured the Tony. They offered to assemble the plane. It was decided to go ahead with the assembly and then to donate the complete aircraft to the JSDAF museum at Irumagawa [painted up in the colors of the Tokyo air defense fighter group.]

    210's UNITE!!!!!!!!!

210 lovers ought to place a permanent statue to your dedication. Hope to finally have a face to face meeting this September at JCCS, I keep missing you at previous shows,

    74 fiat 124 tc special

Actually it looks more like a 410 or 411. My RL411 has been mistaken for a FIAT [same design house, Pinin Farina] more times than I want to remember, including the Insurance adjuster who rammed me from behind while looking at a bus accident. That was an easy settlement !

I cannot remember the official designation, but this is the trainer aircraft used to pre qualify USAF Academy cadets for flight school and full qualification.

    Datsunville saving Dimes

Good Lord, I dread the day that Jay Leno's scouts find my RL411 ! It will dry up all future sources of spare parts. And I have been successful in finding original or substitute parts for 50 years as original as can be possible after a 51 years old model. See you all at the new location for the 2018 JCCS ! BTW, I am also bringing my "new" car, the 1997 Infiniti J30T. Nissan used to be a hit by putting a Fair Lady Sports Car engine in to a 4 door sedan. I'm bringing 2 of the best efforts !

    Stock U20 SU On R16?

An absolutely beautiful set of U20 carbs ! If it were mine [jealousy apparent] I would prefer to trade an authentic U20 set for an RL411 or 311 roadster set including the manifold. Why ? for authenticity's sake ! Depending on the target vehicle, which you neglected to specify, the replacement set of carbs may well need to be with the intake gasolene tubing either both on the front ALA RL411 sedan or with front and rear tubing alternating ALA PL311 roadster. Details do count !

Given the black letter "R", not a red one, this is post Mr Royce's demise. Are those acetylene head lamps ?

Note the Zeppelin and the biplane passenger plane. Yes, people used to dress to the nines when traveling by air [and cross continent rail]. Now you are lucky if they are wearing pajamas and flip flops. Lets not go in to the screaming brats running up and down the aisle on the red eye flights !!!!!

  15. Find a metal shop that still remembers how to spin an Aluminum sheet into a bowl or in your case a headlight cover. Hurry, we old farts won't last much longer and the younger generation just wants to play with their game phones.
