Hi guys so recently my fuel pump went out on my 89 d21 z24i and i had a weber 38 carb kit and a holley low pressure pump already bc i was planning to do swap in near future so i just decided to go ahead and do it. NOTE. When i ordered carb kit it claimed i didnt need to make any changes to the distributor or timing system! So i swapped tbi to weber carb and hooked up pump and when i started truck it fired right up but immediately revved to like 2k rpm amd slowly started climbing so i shut it off. After more research online it seems i have to swap the Distributor to a early model z24 distributor with vacuum adv. And the oil pump drive spindle. Is this true?? Or can i use my factory z24i distributor?? Help me out fellas? What do i need to do to get this thing running right?
