Mine had a similar "fix" done to it. Its due to the firewall cracking from years of using the throttle pedal. I ended up plating mine cause I am not ready to paint. The proper fix is to weld up the fire wall and fix the mount. The original bracket I believe was tack welded to the firewall. Chances are when they remounted it they adjusted it maybe to their liking or they just poorly chose a hole and mounted it and the result is it rubbing the bracket above.

Hey everyone, I have been taking my 521 out to shows around town lately and have ran into some longtime Datsun/Ratsun guys at the shows but wanted to see how many of us are active and around the Socal area? I see alot of activity in the PNW but it would be cool to see some other old Dattos. I am around the high desert area if anyone ever wants to roll to a meet, I do not have social media but am active with all the cars.

I appreciate everyones help on this. I really couldnt wrap my head around the need. Im ditching cable throttle entirely so Its nice to know if can be plugged.

Yes this is a 72, I was trying to wrap my head around it and looks like I don't need to keep it. The casting on the S15 SR20 head has a section that this interferes with so I had removed it for now but I will plug with a bolt.

I for the life of me cant figure out what this sensor below the throttle cable is. It is a plunger style similar to a brake light switch. It is depressed when the throttle is off, and plunger extends when gas pedal is pressed. Only thing I can think is it has some relation to E choke? Cant find a wiring diagram with it anywhere.

Man that looks great! I really wish I had time to redo my entire frame and make the truck a better overall driving vehicle. I'm going to deal with no E for the time being but its a going to be a pain. Thank you for finding the pictures!

Yea man I even have a rear disc conversion that I am adding that has e brake levers on the calipers so this wasnt on my board of items needing to be addressed until now. I think with routing the hand brake inside it would need welding of a bracket and also cutting hole in the rear of the cab if I am not mistaken. The truck has been hacked up as is so I am not afraid of doing so, I was just curious if anyone had a build or anything I could get ideas from.

Hey all, Looking for the custom swapped guys here. I recently installed a SR20 in my truck and part of the kit I used, the hand brake mount on the frame has to go away due to clearance issues on the exhaust manifold. Has anyone found a work around on moving to a foot lever, or hand lever? I found a Youtube video of a guy who put a schassis assembly in his truck but that's about it. Thank you
