    Its been a while

Is "Seafoam Green" the technical name? or is that just a ballpark color? Fixed the radiator hose this morning. Drained the entire thing... Probably a good thing...

    Its been a while

Hey guys! Its been a while since Ive been able to work on my 521. School has taken up most of my time. But, since its been break I've been able to pull out the old thing and warm it back up. Before I parked it 4 or 5 months ago I REALLY went through it. I cleaned the engine bay. Pulled out most of the entire interior and scrubbed and cleaned. Im pretty happy with it. Im in the middle of a few options: Sell it for school. (Breaks my heart thinking about it) Or, find a way to hold onto it and continue to fix it. (I like this one better) So heres to scoop. FIRST! Im in the bay area. So if anyone is around or know where I can get help, let me know. If I do this, I want to do it right. It needs some real body work. (somewhat big hit on the front by the right headlight) and the bed has a good red rust color. Ive been wanting to pull the whole bed off and clean the frame underneath. Also it needs new exhaust from start to end. I have a pretty strong feeling theres a rusted out hole in the pipes right under my feet. I feel like it might be a better idea to get the whole exhaust kit. from block to end. Ive put in new suspension about 8 months ago but its still feeling a little sloppy. (thats a 521 right?) I need to find some new rear bumpers. One of them got pretty heavily tweaked. As for the interior, It needs a new windshield. Its FOGGY, almost dangerously foggy. Is there anywhere I can get somewhat fresh glass? The driver and passenger windows need new felt going around them. Im waiting for the day they explode in my lap from rattling around. THE DASH! Jeez, ok... So personally I like it. Its clean except for the top. Its worse than the grand canyon. I think it gives it some personality and patina. But, Id like this thing to be a little more clean than it is now. So! for the big body project the first thing I want to figure out is what the color is that I have. Along with if I can still get it and how hard it would be. In the end, I guess I'm looking at a restoration. Im pretty excited for it. On the way home today I blew a hole in a radiator hose going to the heater core. Almost overheated only a few blocks from house but seemed to make it safely. I need to go grab something from an auto shop tomorrow. Got lucky on that one... HERES THE RIG! Since the photo I've blacked the wheels and put on some white walls. It looks pretty damn good.
  3. yea i kind of just drive for a while... fill up.. drive... cross fingers... drive... fill up.... I have a extra 2 gallon just in case
  4. Temp gauge works fine. Gauge doesnt work at all. I move the wires around and theres absolutely no movement.
  5. Where is the ground at? If its the back wire on top next to the yellow then im solid... if theres another i dont know about... but I roughed up the connections to the tank with some steel wool so those are nice and tight.
  6. So my gas gauge doesnt work on my 521... Im wondering if the Floater is out of wack.... I can access it from in my bed... And how hard is it to open that thing up? It seems to be a little rusted Will i blow up? Combust into flame? What should i do?
  7. Anyone know where i can get a new master cylinder for the brakes on a 521? I tried ordering one off ebay but I was refunded and it never came... Dont know why... But im brakeless at the moment. Local would be best.
  8. I checked all of the relays.. they look clean. surprisingly clean. I havent seen anything that is out of the ordinary. I might have found some loose ones. ill post some pics up soon. What doesnt make sense is that everything has worked before. Is it possible that a 50a alt would help and/or fix it?
  9. I need The inside of the Glove box The partical board shelf thats underneath the glove box and also... as rare as they are a dash top pad that is in somewhat nice condition. less cracks the better. Im in the Bay Area closer the better. Thanks
  10. You guy are rad! thanks for all the help. My truck has accumulated a hand full of problems in the last month. otherwise its a rock. What would a 50a do compared to the 35a?
  11. I was considering the alt, but I was thinking the same thing as jayden, it should hold up. Is there a wiring diagram? And i guess a side note.. Where could i find a new wiring harness. A restoration is in the near future.
  12. So its night time I have my lights on and im about to turn. First... I hit the brakes... ---> The brake lights go on in back. But as the brake lights go on something in the circuit cuts out making the head lights go out for a second. I hit the turning signal.. and it does the same thing. all lights will cut out when one relays. I have a stereo set up and i have a feeling my buddy who put it in just hooked it up to the old cigarette lighter leeds. When music is going on i sometime turns off it self. but will for sure do it when you do anything that has to do with lights. Its hard to rock out when your song cuts out when you hit the brake... Does any of this make sense? Any ideas? All the fuses are good. And there was a time when it worked. with in the last month this has happened and confused me greatly anything helps Thanks
