well after driving the truck for a month or so the head gasket started leaking, so it sat for a month or so, I finally got around to tearing into it on Thursday. the old gasket was so rotten it looked like it was leaking coolant into #1 and 4. here are a couple pics.

hey Mike, the spacers on my column are just over an inch and could probably be shorter but i have toyota buckets that sit low in my truck so my knees clear with room to spare

here is the truck i will try to get some specific to the steering column, all thats been done is the body lift it has 205/75r15 in the front and 225/75/r15 in the back

my 78 kc has a 2" body lift in it the the column has just been dropped a bit to accommodate the lift, just unbolt the column from the cab then lift it and see how tall of a spacer you need afterwards

yep and it looks like im loosing my storage space for my camper so if you know anyone with a toyota, nissan, mazda, datsun, chev s10 or ford ranger that wants a camper let them know $800 and i may even be able to deleiver in the cowichan valley

Z chopper yep i got the RV its in storage for the winter while i clean up the L20b and 4 speed i have set aside for it. Mike Its a 75 vangaurd it was listed on here by "adiyguy" a while back

well ive been driving it for just about 2 weeks now and so far it seems to be good, the carb is worn out a bit and it needs new points but it goes from a to b heres a couple pics the only question i have is since this is an older 510 engine it has the single timing pointer and 5 notches on the crank, what does each notch represent in degrees? oh and look what still works lol

the engine is more or less complete now and got the engine bay fixed up

finally got around to tearing into the truck old L-16 out and stripped of its truck specific parts rust and the hole from the homemade cold air intake from a previous owner clean up

lol the fords aren't mine, the green s10 is my 4x4 bush truck and the blue one is my winter beater, the red/black one got crushed years ago. the parts 1000 might end up with an a-13 if i get motivated but there are alot of other projects before that i should attend to.

haha you would be the 6th person besides myself to have a car there, all is just an old chicken barn i thinks its something like 26' wide by 300' long heres an outside pic from a couple years ago and thats only the back half

i just relized how out of date things are with this car i now have 2 1000's but no pics yeti will have to get some tommorrow after work. the original car is doing fine not much has changed got the brakes fixed up and stole the better seats out of my second car, the second car is more or less parts only since it didnt come with papers but i did get it running and the engine seems fine.

little bit of progress reassembling the L16 tonight and one of the rust hole in the new box and the tailgate that was burried in the dirt near the parts donor

I also picked up a rusty but usable box for free, that with a couple patches should match this truck perfectly and heres a pic with the gf's truck
