    Hey Ratsun, I'm hoping to find a home for my parts truck with someone who will enjoy and build something cool out of it. It's a 77 620 king Cab body/chassis - nothing under the hood, but it does have a 4 speed manual transmission pulled and sitting in the bed -not sure of the condition on that. The body itself has very minimal rust and is in good shape, aside from a bent in piece under where the bumper mounts. It still has the wiring harnesses under the crumbled dash. I have a grille for it in two styles if you prefer the older grille, or the original if you want an accurate one for the year. If you bring wheels/tires, we can get it to roll into a trailer, but it's not currently sitting on rolling wheels/tires. Willing to let it go for free or for whatever anyone is compelled to give me for it - I just don't want to see another 620 permanently lost.   2. Is the screw at the base of the distributor there supposed to be through the oval slot on the left?
  3. Here is the thermostat hose and line to the intake: bends back rather sharp but hose doesn't pinch
  4. Picked up the parts - rubber hose, steel line, and will be borrowing a line bender from a friend to make it tuck in nicely. Now I'm just having trouble with where on the intake it is actually supposed to route to. From the description and image above: ..."a hard line up to the intake by the vacuum fitting for the brake booster and another rubber hose to this fitting". I can see in datzenmike's reference pic that the modulator line ties in with the main vac line at the intake port closest to the driver's side.   6. Found the part number(s) for the Vacuum Modulator line on carpartsmanual, but can't find any hits online to order a replacement part. Plenty of hits for other 60's/70's vehicles, but not for Nissan/Datsun. Is this something I could just make out of brake line if I bend it correctly and connect it to the tube elbow? Doesn't look like there is enough demand for this part for it to be sold in the correct length and shape.

  8. Hey everyone! After not posting for about a year, I'm finding myself working on the 620 a lot again recently, and as such, finding all kinds of new questions to ask. A buddy of mine who knows a lot more about vehicles than I do pointed out that my truck appears to be completely missing the vacuum modulator and vacuum line. I'm curious if there is any reason why a previous owner would have removed these parts, and how I was able to drive the truck home without it.   9. '05 and later Nissans have the smaller PCD. '01-'04 stock rims seem to have the styling I like the most, and the correct PCD (and offset in many cases). America's tire sells Hankook Optimos for $200 a set in stock size.   10. Here is what I'm working with now. Set of four mags (14") in pretty good shape: Set of four of these (I'm guessing stock?)(14") in varying condition. Best one looks like this: Roughest looks like this (Bottom): Overall I guess they're not too bad? Might be able to bend the white one's lip back to shape.
  11. My stock rims are on the bent and bruised side unfortunately. I do have 14" slot mags, but long term I won't be able to stick with the 14's and have clearance for the beebani disc conversion I want to do. I agree with you though, going classic looks very nice!

    I'm debating making the drive to Fresno over these rims (just shy of 3 hours) to throw on my '73 620. My brain says no but my heart says yes.   16. That makes a lot of sense. I'm planning on watching ChrisFix's drum brake walkthrough on YouTube before attacking it with any tools, because I'd likely have as successful an attempt as the former owner if I tried now. I've worked on brakes on my Corollas and Rav 4, but never drum brakes.
  17. Here's a better picture of the hoses. Looks like they are hooked up wrong in some places, and not at all in others.
  18. I'll have to snap more pics when I get home. The valve cover vent hose may just be floppin and not connected to anything.
  19. I'm thinking about rebuilding the drums for now and putting the disc brake money elsewhere, then revisiting later if I feel strongly about it. I have a picture of my drums further up the thread where the backing plate is all torn to hell. Any idea what causes this? Hopefully they can be rebuilt/swapped with the ones from the '77.

  21. The area that seems like it'll be the biggest bang for my buck to start is figuring out what to do with brakes, wheels, and tires. When I drove it home it drifted all over the place while braking. Check out these mangled backing plates: Is a conversion to disk brakes worth the effort if I'm planning to drive this truck a few days per week?   22. Not sure what this is zip-tied in front of the radiator, but I really don't like where those hoses are. Seems like they'd be easy to damage.

  24. Here's a look at the engine. The previous owner got the truck from someone who used it as a ranch truck in Idaho. Supposedly, the odometer hasn't rolled over yet, and it reads 82,000 right now. I know that the truck didn't run when the previous owner purchased it, and he pulled the engine out, replaced a head gasket, went through it front to back, and got it up and running (he has some Facebook videos of himself working on it too, which is nice). Engine: Not sure what the carb on there is, but it's definitely newer. I do have the air filter housing from both trucks
