  1. Here is me on practice day. I was told at track car could be a 1969. I am new to Datsun. I know allot about the Ford stuff. I am looking to build a custom motor to get more horsepower. I was thinking KA24, because of rod length. Ford's can't come close. For the camshaft, I am thinking the schneider .662ish lift. Obiviously biggest valves I can, maybe 280zx valves? Porting and polishing, long tube header. It looks like I might do the stroker build. With aftermarket rods. Does anyone have parts laying around that are good, they wanna sell? I need block and good head to start with. Single overhead camshaft. Also need a good crank for stroker build. We are allowed to go up to 2600cc.
  2. I don't know what year it is. It had a matchbox distributor. So I assume it is a 1979. If you email me, I will send you a pic. I have never done flicker or anything like that.
  3. I have never done a flicker or anything like that. I can show pics in Facebook. I have pics in my phone. Send me your email and I will send you pics? It's a race car. All body lines have been Bondo over and etc. Car has a L20B motor and has won at Barona Speedway.
  4. I am trying to upload pic. I don't know how. Can someone please tell me? Thanks
  5. I got a good carb. Now is the next motor. My car has independent rear. So it might not be a 1979.
  6. Yes, I meant Camber right rear. Yes, I understand frame heights and will be checking them. Also gotta weight the car to get the rite percents on the scales.. I am hoping by cambering right rear, it will tighten car on exit. As the tire goes up, the tread will lay into the track more. Make a better contact patch..
  7. Yes, Barona. Car has been around. I think I am the 3rd owner. Car just lacks a little power. My Family raced at Speedway 117 and I spent 30 years working on cars at Cajon. Miss both tracks. I still ajng out with the drivers once in a while.. Boy, the memories....
  8. Here is the car racing. I am going to put a little more caster in right rear. To get better grip and tighten the car up a little.
  9. Car is pretty competitive with motor now. Has actually won... I like to build as big motors as I can. Big valves and porting and polishing is ok. Up to 2600ccs. Even allowed Roller Solid Camshafts. Just like 200 lbs. Compression rule.
  10. I understand, car currently has motor and race ready. I want to build a bigger replacement motor. I always go all out on my motor builds. Always, good rods, balancing, etc. Spend a few hundred now, or replace motor sooner. I am trying to get ideas on back up motor..
  11. Car has been raced before and has won again St the Ford's. Set up wise, Car handles good, just a little loose. Which I will check springs and scale car. Car has to weight 2100 lbs. With driver. All extra weight has been removed to the point the car is 120 lbs. Light with driver.
  12. It is a 1/4 mile dirt track. I raced Ford's. Made conversion to Datsun.
  13. Thank you. Car already has a good header and deepened oil pan. I will be reusing those, once new motor is built.. Yes, I am stuck with the Holley 350 carb. Current motor does have a camshaft and I am wanting to spin it 7,000 rpm.. I will be buying new 4340 billet rods for new motor.. Distributor and MSD box (digital 6al) will also be reused.. The guy who wins alot, I helped unload his car at the Dyno shop and it dyno'd at 210 horsepower. So I believe the Datsun/Nissan combo I can achieve that horsepower or close to it.. I am just trying to figure what Combo would get me to that horsepower range.
