  2. This is a nice build. Want mine to be this clean when it's done.
  3. Have a drive shaft for the 4speed on the way. Installed the pedal assembly and removed the center console and automatic shifter. Getting closer.
  4. I found 38/32 Nissan valves on eBay that I think I'm going to use if not just get the valves that you suggested. 40mm intake valves that I was thinking of using were from a VW beetle. Would have to machine the length down to make them work. Read on the Datsun1200 wiki that someone put in 40/33 valves in from tomei I believe. But found info(flow charts) on the 38/32 set up. Seems like a good set up. Just have to decide how much money I want to through at it before a ca18det or sr20 swap is more economical.
  5. So got the automatic out this morning. Found out that my engine mounts are doing absolutely nothing. Also, the pilot bushing that came in the exedy clutch kit is the wrong size. But the biggest issue is the output yoke is different and I don't have one nor can I find one. Anybody have one? I'll put an ad up in the classified section. Looks like the automatic transmission mount will work if I flip it around like I read. Hope the yoke doesn't hold me up from finishing the swap.

  7. Just popped off my valve cover and I have an h75 head. From what I was reading on the datsun1200 wiki page its a good head. Also going to 40/33 mm valves, good Port and Polish, and double valve springs would make decent power(for an A-series). Does the closed chamber h89 head make that much of a difference?
  8. I have not removed the auto trans yet. the clutch kit I bought came with a pilot bushing. From what I'm seeing there is a hard line that goes from the master to the slave flex hose??? if so, I guess I'm going to have to get it made. As far as the brake master cylinder, I can only find it without a reservoir. Does to 210 reservoir fit? Thanks for all the info Datzenmike.
  9. Getting ready to do my transmission swap. Removed the brake pedal assembly and prepping the clutch/brake assembly for install. Since I'm doing the 280zx strut swap now would be a good time to swap the master cylinder. Are 280zx masters direct bolt in if not what is everyone using? also I'm pretty sure the vacuum booster is shot. I finally received the clutch kit, slave, and master. The clutch hose I order is way too short. Does anybody know the stock length of the hose? Also does anybody know the bolt sizes for the flywheel and pressure plate? I know its a lot of questions. I appreciate any info. Just trying to prevent any road blocks before I get in too deep. Thanks.
  10. Not to worried where I live. Why are all the bumpers that I'm finding $500-600??? Only paid $200 for the car? Any alternatives. 1200, roadster bumpers?? Don't mind if they are too wide can splice them to the right width.
  11. Removed the bumpers, trim and front/rear side lights. Started cutting out the cancer and making patch panels. Going to delete the side lights and trim. Need to source some non-US bumpers, can't stand the original ones. Also going to delete the sunroof. Trying to make it as light as possible. It already looks a lot better without the bumpers. Not sure if I'm going to roll the fenders or add extensions. Guess I need to get some rims soon. Thinking 14x6 with 0 offset. What do you guys think?
  12. Just received my lightweight flywheel from Japan today. Still waiting on a few more parts to start the manual swap.
  13. I'm going the option A route with my A14. I'm doing a 4 speed swap and planning on pulling the engine to clean it up and re- seal it. While it's out I'm going to Port and polish the head and do the valve springs. Do you have the isky valve springs part number and the spec on the delta cam. Did you replace your lifters when you replaced your cam? Thanks.

  16. So finally getting some Time to work on the Datsun again. Since the last time I posted, I've picked up a 4 speed,clutch pedal setup, ordered a lightweight flywheel from Japan. I'm also about to order the exedy clutch kit, master cylinder,and slave. I re-jetted the Weber. Car runs good enough for now until the swap is done. Then I'm going to focus on engine and supension. Was looking for pistons but could only find high compression 79mm pistons for an A15. Can you bore the a14 cylinders 3mms? Do the a14 and a15 use the same block and connecting rods. hope to have another update with pics soon with the new trans in.
  17. Well got the 280zx set up. Started the interior color change and dash pad restoration. Unfortunately when I was taking out plastic bits from the interior, the A-pillar covers shattered to pieces. So I'll be on the lookout for those.
  18. Going to be picking up some 280zx strut/brake assemblies today. I was wondering what rear spring and shock combo everyone was running? Was thinking of going with 150# springs in the front since it's going to be my daily. Also what are your thoughts on the stop tech brakes? They are about double the price of other brands. Thanks.

  20. Doing a manual swap on my '79 210 (a14) and having issues finding a flywheel. This is the only one I've found so far https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DATSUN-1200-B110-SUNNY-B310-120Y-B210-A12-A14-A15-CHROME-MOLLEY-FLYWHEEL-/163647265965 If I bought this one would I have to do anymore mods to make it run right since it would rev faster? Or do you know where I could source a stock one? Thanks.
  21. So started working on the 210 again. I ditched the motorcycle carbs and replaced them with a Weber 32/36 I stole off my wifes VW bug project. It's running to rich so I ordered some smaller jets. I also picked up some 2000 Sentra seats and seat belts from the junk yard. The stock ones are crumbling to pieces. I fabricated the driverside bracket this morning to utilize the factory mounting holes. Got it installed along with the Sentra seat belt. it surprisingly fit with a little bit of trimming. Very pleased with the out come. Now time for the passenger side. Hope to have this finally on the road soon. Will update with any other progess.
  22. So the 2 that were leaking, I took them apart and cleaned them. I discovered that there was the wrong o-rings installed on the float needle housing and replaced them with better fitting and fuel rated ones. Re-installed the carbs and it ran good. Took it for my first test run. Now I need to start on the electrical issues. No turn signals,horn, heater lever won't budge. A lot more work ahead.
  23. https://i.imgur.com/pHYBtfC.jpg So everything is finally installed. Just when I started it fuel was pouring out the front of the carbs. Do I need a fuel pressure regulator? Or do I need to run its own return line instead of using stock setup(pictured). Or are the floats not working properly? Thanks.
