  1. I purchased and had overhauled a 60L gearbox for my Sprite trackday car. Car puts out 138Hp and 112FT/LB of torque. Was built by Bob Asgiersson a US specialist (now passed away) - broke it and then repaired by Aussie rally Datsun mechanic (no knowledgeable on the 60L). Unfortunately, I've never gotten the thing shifting well. Awkward as hell on the road coming down from 3rd to 2nd. On the track I have a similar problem selecting 3rd. Any advice from forum members? Is this a common issue? Is it just that I'm pushing too much torque through the box? If so, is the 60A a better bet, or do i have to cobble together an adaption of a 63A. While I'm on the topic, there is a big gap between 2nd and 3rd. Do any of the other boxes offer better gear spacing? Scott Graham Sydney Australia
