  1. Like I said he sounds like an idiot and uses the wrong words. As for the below. They use controlled burns as a secondary option in managed forests where they clear out all brush, debris, and dead trees out here in VA around heavily populated areas and we don't have any issues with injunctions. https://www.nasa.gov/image-feature/goddard/2020/controlled-burn-in-virginia-brings-ash-and-smoke-to-dc-area Its not impossible to do, but yes it is only one piece of the puzzle. Adequate resources for responders and early detectionwarning are another major piece. As far as building bet
  2. Yeah he sounds like an idiot and uses the wrong words but he isn't exactly wrong. Getting rid of the brush, leaves, and undergrowth is a proven strategy to preventing forest fires. Lots of places already conduct controlled burns, and yes manually get the leaves and dead limbs out of areas where controlled burning isn't possible like on a hillside to lower the chances of wildfires. I guarantee you if anyone else were to say this no one would think it was dumb. Just saying don't let your own personal bias stop you from seeing past the bullshit. I didn't vote for him but I have enough common
  3. To reference Ancient Rome here. We have already crossed the rubicon. You can thank the media at large for years of putting everyone to one side or the other and then demonizing them at any chance just to get a reaction for ratings. To be fair here everyone regardless of sides has legitimate grievances but there is no longer an avenue of which to have healthy debate to resolve those issues. From what I have read one of three things will happens. A Trump re-election will most certainly result in prolonged soy fueled rioting and Intel rage. This will likely escalate as fee
  4. One more pic of the other side
  5. So I can’t quote you all here but let’s get down to business. The panels came in and honestly I am impressed. These truly are a steal at the price too as any cash you save with sheet metal patches will be eaten up in time and headache as well as potentially having to redo the job. I have gotten panels from the factory for other vehicles that didn’t look this good. When I ordered I told them I wanted everything thing and they took very good care of me. I even suggested a spare tire well since my car while rust free was bottomed out and I’d rather get new stamped panels than fix the dents mys
  6. An update. I just bought all the panels they offer for the 510. I called and spoke to them even got to talk to Gerson as well. Real great person who has been making body panels for years. Anyway I will update with some pics etc when they come in.
  7. can you PM me a URL? I have the same prob in my 510 plus I would like to duplicate that gear 😄

    Seat Belts

Wish I could be of help. Mine have the factory hooks to hooks. The optional shoulder strap. While they don’t have the I,pact tensioner they work good enough for me,
  9. My thoughts are if anyone has a set of these NOS make a silicone mold and urethane copy them 😀. But since that’s unlikely do what Mike said 👍 Another option I just thought if is go to a snob that calibrates. They likely have an aftermarket gear that will fit available plus they can dial it it.
  10. Not to pimp my services but I’m about to make a set for my l20 head of the timing cover and pump block off on my CNC mill. I have to cad them up but If you didn’t mind being a guinea pig we could work something out. As for what he has I have no idea what country they were made in but dthey look right though if those cap screw are stainless I would opt for something else than risk a stuck bolt as not all stainless plays nice with aluminum. Wont look as nice but what’s the point of beauty if it snaps off inside.
  11. Never used them but you can make any floor pan fit right if you measure everything before you cut. 😜 Honestly the prices aren’t bad at all. The floor board for my 993 was close to 2k and the one in the Third gen RX7 was 1500 and that was for one side only. P.S. If they are reading this can you make some trunk and spare tire well pans? After stripping down more on my dime I discovered it had been rear ended before and all they did was hide the damage not fix it. I could straighten some and duplicate other parts but who wants to spend all that time if you don’t have to. And yeah
  12. Could you put a light bend in the tubes so they come out at an angle? Never done that swap so if that’s a useless suggestion my apologies.
  13. I had this issue on my RX-7 when I scrapped the tiny sequential hitachi turbos for a big T-72 turbo, Honestly I found hat steel braided one would hold a shape... Well mostly. There is also this plastics braid that if you heat gun it it will hold its shape. For any serious bends I just used some aluminum tubing, a pipe bender or welder for 90’s, and a double flange tool. It looks fantastic and I don’t have to worry about blowing out a line at the bends. Not sure on the dime but that happens quite a bit on the dorritos..

  15. LOL you just reminded me of this.

So a question here. When using the z20s block and l20b head what timing cover do I use? I would think I would use the l series cover cause of the head differences but I want to be positive.
  17. Yeah from what I saw on dirt bikes and small power equipment is the lines would dry out and crack and/or just about all the brass in a carburetor would corrode leading to plugged jets and floats that sunk. I also found that adding stabil to e-10 gas would cause the brass to corrode faster. I assume this is why they now have a stabil for e-10 and one for e-free? I stopped using it years ago after I had to replace a carb on a 4 wheeler that only sat for a month. EFI engines run a different type of fuel line due to the pressure and no brass at all. Not saying they are impervious to the ethan
  18. I can but its fuel injected and the mfr recommends e-10 or less. They have both e-10 and no e-free at the dock. I have put in both it really just depends what pump is open as to what I use. The E free is around 2.50 so still cheap.

I actually netted a factory gasket with round 1.5 ports at the dealer here. They practically gave it to me for 7 bucks. It was collecting dust in the parts room. Already 3d scanned it to mill a metal template in the event I ever need to do this on another head.
  20. Yeah Virginia's only rule is you cant tie boats together to have a floating party but other than that we can be on the water. Hopefully they will open you guys up there soon as the weather is starting to get nice out least down here anyway so I imagine its around the corner up there.
  21. So if the block turns out to be cracked there are some guides out there for welding the block back up Typically you drill straight holes along each crack and stick weld them up. followed by resurfacing the gasket seat. I recommend letting a machinist do that though. No RTV is going to fix a crack. That said if it isn't cracked might I suggest the RTV sealant specifically made by Mazda for the third gen RX7. I don't know what it is about that RTV but it has sealed things that I couldn't otherwise seal up.
  22. So I bought a brand new Bennington 21 SLX They MSRP just shy of 40k but I got it for 28k. One of the few things the virus was good for is lowering prices. Been on the water all the time as I have no idea how long gas is going to stay at 1.50 a gallon. I know I know the rule is post a pic but honestly I hooked it up to my truck and went straight out to the lave and didn't think about even taking one. Figured since I'm still "tele-working" might as well do it from the water 😄
  23. There is a company called Vintagerubber.com that makes a full set of rubber for both 2 and 4 doors as well as stuff for the wagons. They also sell them in individuals to meet your needs. I bought a set from them for when I put my car back together. They look pretty good to me. Can't say how they fit yet for the Datsun but I used their stuff back when I had my MK1 GTI and it fit pretty good and was comparable to factory quality anyway. Certainly better than most the stuff that comes from CCP virus land. I imagine that they might be flexible on the pricing given the shutdowns etc.

The cylinder one intake valve rusted and coated the guide with rust. I assume the valve was in an open position while it sat cause the inside of the guide is damaged. Either way though I would just replace them. I have to rebuild the rest of the head. I don’t see why 89mm is barely doable on the z20 block. Looks to be plenty of meat there. Besides it could always be sleeved. EDIT. All that said 88m might be the way to go depending on availability of the vg30 oversized pistons are concerned. Worst case I can have my partner turn some out on the lathe and then I could
