Do you know a good Datsun mechanic in CO?
-
Hey! Never had a message "on my profile" before!! Where are you located & what model Datsun? I worked at Ignite Performance here in Arvada for 8 years, left last year. Greg can't keep up with all of the needs/demands for Datsun work..............the Z cars have come out of the woodwork! I think he is 6++ mo's out, from taking on any additional work. All I can say, is you can't expect 1980's pricing for work, as many still do. Those people are always disappointed & rarely bring their car in. The Datsun being a true classic car these days & very few willing to work on them, the shop pickings are quite slim. His shop rate is $135 hr & every car is different, so near impossible to quote repair costs. A full resto on a Z car starts around $60k & can breach $100k, depending on what level of resto somebody is looking for! Most people faint, hearing that! A guy brought in a 1970 Series 1, was a nice & shiny painted car, had some cool mods. He was willing to start at $80k for a full resto, but when they stripped & media blasted the body, it literally fell apart, had an incredible amount of horrible metal repairs, under layers of bondo!! Greg told him an additional $30k in METAL WORK (yes, it was horribly rotted), so they called me to locate a better body shell. We got very lucky & found a CA AZ 1970 rolling shell with clean title, missing most of the rare Ser 1 parts, for $3500 + a quick road trip to pick it up in IA!! That body shell turned out to be pretty nice & straight, with only minor rust/rot.
Call me any time evenings or weekends at 269-598-5836. A tour of Ignite is killer cool! Greg likely has 10-12 Z cars & a 510 in there at any given time!

Hello, Yenpit I am interested in the tank. Is it available
-
Hey! The 1972 Wagon tank? Yes, once I can pull it & do a visual. I will insist on me having it professionally cleaned for two reasons...........one, my peace of mind that I'm selling a good tank & two, if I ship a "dirty" tank & the carrier catches it, they will simply confiscate it. I'm not willing to take that chance, as I would feel that I would have to reimburse you. If it is cleaned (boiled out), there is typically no odor, thus exponentially less chance of having it stopped!
I can try to get to pulling it this weekend, then get it cleaned.
If the tank is good, I will want $100 for the tank + whatever the cleaning/boiling costs. Let me know if that works for you!

how can i contact you? Tried a PM and got a reply that you cannot receive messages

Cool! 😎 I always suggest rebuilding ANY Datsun pull push switch, unless it was pulled from a running driving working vehicle............I get many of my parts that I sell from boxes of stuff, some out of parts cars, but rarely out of runner drivers! Looks like a good solid truck!
As Mike stated, do some random posts, to get your participation #'s up & you should be able to contact others normally! You have mine now, so let me know if you need anything else!
