  1. Yeah, right next to Maple Valley. Not really looking for anything at the moment, just new to the area and trying to get to know the area... again. Actually I suppose that's not entirely true. I'd love to get a hold of a good hood, dash and grill for a 620 (early grill)
  2. I'm currently living in Ravensdale, and I work in Redmond. I'll probably be moving in around 4 months, I don't know where yet, but it will be within an hour commute of Redmond. As far as how far I'm willing to go, I wouldn't put many limitations on that. I have a lot of family in Portland, so I go that direction fairly often.

Yes it is, I didn't notice that till this morning. This thing's like a treasure chest. I love old cars!
  4. I just moved to Seattle from Dallas. I'd love to find out where I might be able to go to get or at least take a look at parts and even tools. Are there any service shops that you would consider taking old Japanese cars to that would know what they're doing? If it came to that. I lived in Seattle 12 years ago and I would go up to Boeing Surplus to get all kinds of odds and ends. I have a pair of wire cutters from there that I probably got for less than $5 that are one of the best tools in my garage. I learned today from the guy I talked to at Carburetors Unlimited that sadly Boeing Surplus long is gone. Obviously there are Lowes, Home Depot, Orrieleys, AutoZone, NAPA, Advanced auto, and the others like them. Where are the performance shops that know what they are doing and have a stock of good parts? On the same note, are there scrap yards that would have a good selection of '70s jap stuff? Thanks

I apologize if that last picture is upside down. Apple and Windows aren't working together. I'll see If I can fix it.

It's a DGAV 32/36. Also note what it's sitting on :) I was driving through Kent this morning and just happened across the brick and mortar location (the performance shop) for Carbs Unlimited. So I pulled a U turn and picked up a new air cleaner, rebuild kit and power valve for the Weber. I was pretty excited to stumble on that. I still don't have a wrench that I can get to the two inside bolts for the carb though. The outside two were 11mm, but I'm not sure that the inside ones are the same. I see Helicoils in my future.

It has a crap interior... That's actually a bit of a lie, it's not that bad, I might consider doing plaid, but that might be too Bavarian. One of the POs put a decent bench in there (hence the removal of the console) it's a little damp though, it's loose, and I'm too tall for it. I'd like to put some slimmer buckets in there. It does have a Weber. I'll need to figure out what it is and get a kit for it. I'd show you a picture of it to help me identify, but the upload bar is stalled.

2eDeYe" post="1348267" timestamp="1454694264"] With the 79 you can also use drop spindles for the 720 to get 2" lower in the front without altering the control arm geometry. Ooh, that sounds promising. I'll definitely look into that.

Thanks, that camper might be up for sale soon :) Could anything in that pile be a battery tray/bracket? It seems to be missing that.

I edited the first post to what it was originally supposed to be. I didn't know they came with disks, thanks for that info King Rat. By stiffening I was thinking about tying a cage into the existing frame and suspension mounts toward the purpose of autocrossing, but that's a far off pipe dream. All new suspension components will surely be on the bill. I just wont be tying too much cash in it until I get the title in my name. I don't think that it is, but if the thing is stolen, I'm anxious to find out. I figure my worst case scenario is that I pay a couple hundred bucks to return someone's stolen truck to them. That sounds worth it.

I bought a '79 today. I've wanted one of these trucks since high school (in the late nineties) I'm sure a lot of you guys were aware of this truck on Craigslist up in Everett. Assuming it isn't stolen it was a heck of a deal. Plans include getting it running, getting it stopping, cleaning up the interior. Lowering it maybe 3" with blocks in the back and adjustments in the front. Adding energy suspensions full bushing catalog, maybe a new radiator or a rebuild with an electric fan. Then rebuilding the wiring harness, cleaning up the engine bay, maybe relocating the battery to under the bed, wheels (undecided between vintage Japanese 15s or something like TE-37s or SW388s), bed liner, and bucket seats. Follow that with a disk brake kit, engine rebuild/swap, sound deadening the interior, simple stereo, maybe even get into some chassis stiffening. I'd love to swap to the earlier grill if this is possible. Is it a direct swap? All of this stuff was in the bed when I bought it, and there are a couple of brackets that I can't identify: I don't know what the cover to the left of the gas cap is, the bracket between the side badge and the rear view mirror, or the bracket between the hub cap and the headlight bracket. Also is the console the stock piece?
  12. Nice truck! Yours was one of the ones that kept popping up of google image searches and is definiately one that heavily influenced my purchase today of a '79. I love the tan color, mine's a bit browner than that.
