  1. Been a while since I've been in here, having issues with the carb on my truck. Can you guys advise me as to what is my best option for the issue of a old tired stock carburetor . Would even be willing to ship it out to a carburetor gooroo guy, or gal. I've used a guy in the past for other carburetor rebuilds, the guy actually has engines that he tunes the carburetor with....I would be willing to attempt to rebuild the carb, hoping for some advise as to my options, part number, or kits you guys may know of, truck is complete, restored, just having issues with it running correctly, also does anybody have the exhaust donut or know of a replacement aftermarket part, split clamp must crush/seal the exhaust from the manifold to the pipe.will try and post pictures of the truck on here shortly, thanks for advise in the past also.

  2. Bought a set of aluminum wheels, they are correct bolt pattern, but offset on wheel is not going to allow for tire clearance on rear fender wells. Does any body know what the offset dimension is for the nl320 unibody? Aftermarket info for wheel options would be very usefull. My 320 is in for body/paint, items out for chrome, interior is in the works also! Excited to get the project completed....will be posting pics as progress is going on. Windshield gasket material info,door bumpers, basically all rubber components. Found a set of rubber clutch, and brake covers in the shape of feet ( right out of the 60's) ordered for VW, but fit the pedals great. Any luck on vent window rubber components? Tail light lens....front and rear. Also looking for new windshield, one it have is pitted....would like to put a spare away for a rainy day. And replace the one that's in and put new gasket in ( mine is leaking ). There must be a common gasket that fits the configuration of the windshield opening to the glass....thanks all

  3. Me again...lol, had truck in for required Pennsylvania state inspection, didnt pass due to excessive movement in tie rod,drag link/center link,and king pin on one side. I'm planning on refreshing all the steering components, start from scratch....then comes the issue of getting the front end alignment done. Any helpful ideas/comments are very welcome. Hoping parts are not gonna be a nightmare.thanks again!

Hey guys, had drive shaft off to replace U joints, they seemed ok, when re-installing them I had to rotate the yoke end on diff to get u joint into saddle on diff....when I turned the yoke it diddnt feel right...kinda rough, pinion bearings seemed tight, feels like contact between pinion and ring could be off? Gonna try new set of tires, when I had the front in the air, there is some run out on the O.D. Of tire. Runs smooth till ya get to about 55, then it comes on...back off to 50, and it's gone....driving me nuts...lol. Driveshaft looked good when I had it out of the truck. Carried it into napa to try and get the correct u joints, they are trying to get them by dimensions of old ones. I will do the E brake on, and check backlash on pinion shaft and let ya know. I think I've narrowed down the vibration in drive line to the rear end....any advise on trouble shooting, or replacement part numbers, would be interested in a used carrier/pumpkin,ring&pinion assembly....if any body can point me in the right direction....that would be great. Does anybody do an exchange on the assembly, turn in a core type part? Thanks guys!

  6. Looking for any info on interior restorations. Have stock bench seat, but has anybody found a real comfortable seat conversion? Mine came with buckets, not professionally mounted...lol. And how about floor covering ideas, sun visors need attention, as does door and window seals. Saw a thread on wing window rubber, keeping my eye on that one. One last item "headliner" replacement, or conversion ideas? Think I found my valve cover gasket, are gasket sets the same for the E1, and J13, learning curve going on here, thanks everyone.

  7. Looking for parts suppliers,aka NAPA...for filter numbers,points,condenser,cap,rotor,hoses,belts...you get the idea. I am hoping to locate some frequently used part numbers with the supplier for future reference.would be great to have a list of part numbers to order consumable parts from. The upper radiator hose that's on my 320 has a molded hose outlet for the heater core inlet, what are the chances those are still manufactured? And what are my options for a good replacement hose that has the heater core inlet, has anybody taken the thermostat housing and fabricated a hose connection into it? Have NAPA getting the ignition parts, will get the part numbers on here when I confirm they are correct. I'm sure they are on here somewhere...lol. But having a hard time finding them, I think wayno said they were in " forum search" I can't seem to find a spot to do a search from, new here, sorry!

  8. Think I got the throttle shaft figured out, it still wasn't running so smooth...just happened to grab the distributor cap, and it smoothed right out, let it go and rough idel came back. Popped off the cap to see what was going on....points were just barley opening, set gap, and played with timing, and air screw and became a different engine....now gonna renew all ignition consumables...any part numbers or parts sources (napa?) getting the hang of the shifting pattern on the colum, here is another dumb question....when down shifting into 1st gear, the sinc-rows will not allow you to get it in till it comes to a stop(no movement). I'm assuming that is just the way the trans works, 1st gear is really geared low, get some gear noise, nothing horrible, but when going down a incline it whines pretty good in first, about as loud as it is in reverse....assuming that's normal? Thanks again....will try and get some pic's of the truck out to you guys, I live in NW Pennsylvania, miles, and miles of beautiful mountain dirt roads, looking forward to putting some miles on the truck and seeing some cool places. I was impressed as to how good the heater worked....should have figured out what all the levers and pull switches do before driving the truck home after I bought it, that was one cold adventure getting home....truck I had never driven, in lots of traffic coming out of pittsburg...was very happy to pull into the driveway....looking forward to a lot of fun adventures in my 320. This truck is gonna be a driver, will be pretty much left alone(as to being stock) maybe some paint, but will try to keep it as stock as possible. Thanks again for the info....hotpad

This guy has got his fabricating skills going on big time, I personally got to see this truck at his home, what a great guy, along with his family....and what a patient father (dad) he's got....his dads garage is being used for the body and paint. A man can never build a big enough garage. Great job, good old school craftsmanship....will look forward to seeing it when completed, will have to drive my basically stock one down and do a side by side comparison to get a real idea of how much work has gone into this truck.

I'm with ya on butterflies locating shaft in position, something is not correct in the additional stuff assembled onto external part of shaft, is there an exploded view of how and what is assembled to the throttle shaft? Thanks for responding....are these stock carburetors good? Are they serviceable, anybody that could refer me to a carb gooroo would be great, just learning this from scratch, but as you all know..."A MAN HAS GOT TO KNOW HIS LIMITATIONS" or it gets ugly and expensive real quick...lol

  11. Hey me again, sorry I haven't replied....was in Minnesota on vacation!!! No idea if clutch is original, it is a column shift, next issue...lol, carb idle adj screw is not where it should be, throttle shaft is moved out of place so as to not allow the screw to contact casting for an adjustment, sitting in mid air.....previous owner was into something he didn't know about, thinking weber? Any imput will be wonderful....it has stock carb on it now....thanks

  12. Hey, I've just purchased a 1964nl320, on the drive home I had a vibration, and seemed the clutch was slipping? Gonna replace clutch, any advice on clutch manufacturer? Throwout bushing? Am new to this vehicle...but have good feeling there is a lot of help here, truck was complete,unmolested,rust free...figured it was a great truck to restore, will be looking for parts, will be also looking for links to sources. I'm sure this will be an adventure, looking forward to meeting all you goo-roos,motor heads!
