I think this might just be the fuel pump warning me it's on the way out, but there have been three instances in which my truck died while driving it. Here's the tale:
March 21st : I was pulling into a parking spot, and it took me completely off guard. I checked all manner of things and ultimately decided that since I had power and spark, it must be fuel related. I checked all the lines I could think of/find, poked around the carburetor, etc. Finally as a last ditch effort, I poured a little carb cleaner in the carb (only thing available at the little corner store where I was parked), and it started right up and ran without issue until...
November 1st : As I waited in line for parking at Costco, it did the same sputter and die situation. After trying to restart it a couple times, I pushed it into a non-spot, poured a little more of that carb cleaner in, and it started up fine. Did my shopping and it started back up like usual.
November 8th : The sputter and die happened while on a small residential street. I pulled over to the curb, and it restarted immdiately and drove it again the next day without issue.
I have a replacement fuel pump, I'm hoping to install this weekend, but is there anything else I should be considering?
