    L16: Rocker Arm Pivot Guide popped out!!

    The Felpro headgasket is OK for the L16 83mm size. I heard mixed results in the 85mm size as the ring edge is really close to the piston bore. Otherwise I would try to see if you can get the grafite one from Nissan if 85mm all other Felpro gaskets seem fine I got my Headgaskets from Datsport Australia Durapro brand its a Made in Japan 87mm Graphite ,they also sell a standard one also, I bought 10 at the time for 25$ apc about 10yrs ago

    cool to see a old truck running again. change the fuel filter more often in the trucks. Es p if you had old gas in there(rust). Rust will block the idle jet

    I have a helper spring on my weber as time goes thetrottle cable looses its grease or what ever is insde it.

    By putting it on the other side puts it out 180 degress then you fix the plug cables to match will keep the same timming, unless when you reinstalled it correctly per instruction maybe that it was a tooth off before. Warm up the motor on hot day and see otherwise I dont see how this fixed it by moving it 180degs as the ignition wont really know unless it was off a tooth or you had the dist set wrong in the first place

    On my Mikunies after a few monts it would cut out. I alwasy carry a screw driver now asit the jet blocks that back out. or I had a inner funnerl come loose Car looks great get a beater 510 to drive to work

    sound to me the oil pump spindal is off. however there is a small 8mm bolt under the dist where one can move the plate even more. I have a vid on YOUTUBE just put in Hainz Datsun L series part 5 or part 6

    521 brake hydraulic problem

    on most new brake masters I have to cut the threaded rod a half inch or so.. As they are too long. if installed this way it preloads (pushs the piston) I will install the master to see how the rod hit the pedal and make a best guess cut so the couple fits thru the pdeal hole and releases correctly. I wont swap the rods as this has happen with franks son and his nice 510 where he swapped a rod and and later fell out at a stop light smashsing his front end a and bluebird grill. I would try a slight drag when adjusting the brake. try 3 or 4 clicks. Really Im winging it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I had 2 of these stockcarbs and I just gave them away. But if good I would still use them but once a weber is used they are so much simplier to maintain . All ever goes bad is accel pump on me. tear in diaphrame buy a spare. Cardinal is a stock perfectionist and he will alwasy be. A weber is not in his sight yet.

    I really dont think your bottoming out. If you have coil overs one can adjust to raisse the lower collar spring seat. most coil over have at least a 180 spring in there that I have seen. Might have less travel if ones uses a 7in spring as most are 8in. I just dont drive on rought roads and hit steel plates at road cnstruction sites at over 35mph

    How he ck the rings?Im confusssed. If one goes in that far to ck might of well do the whole motor.. if compression ck then I say its OK. water under the bridge now but I hop its just the rocker arms need adjustment and not a tesioner/timming chain slap noise.

    521 brake hydraulic problem

    I noticed if I have my wheeled turned one way the brakes are harder and pedal seems firmer near the top. Then straight feels looser. I dont know what this means besides a bind or soemthing. What I have been doing is tighenen the brake up which helped then this happened what I mentioned above. I need to tighten up the rears but its harder with the lowering blocks in the way and I cant get one of the drums off. i TIGHTEN THEM NOW BY PULLING THE DRIMS OFF AND USE THE ADJUSTER THEN PLACE ALOT OF ANTISEIZE ON THE DRUM MATING SURFACE AND IF POSSIBLE DRILL AMD MAKE A THREADED JACKING SCREW HOLE.. Daniel,I had a bad master that would pump up and not release and would have to hit a bleed screw to get home w/o cooking the brakes.

  15. maybe the connection just was better when you installed the other one I run 3 Pertronix on my 3 datsuns. Well 2 now sold one and had no proplems with them besides tape might wear out or magnet ring magnets stuck to the dsit shaft cause tape is worn . But eleltrically have been fine but I dont run a tach so cant help you there. good to ck bushing play every year or so(distributor wiggle) from a wron bushing will cause high RPM cut out. I just plain wear out my distributors or the vac adv goes to hell or springs break.
