Hey everyone so some of you may remember form my intro here: kingpins intro that I found a decent condition bench seat for my 720 and traveled some distance to pick it up? well I put it in over the last few days and guess what? it does not fit...well it fits but none of the bolt holes line up. so my question is this: is the 720 kingcab and single cab bench seats different? I have a feeling that I bought a single cab bench seat for my kingcab...dooh. the good news is I have her up an running (with some awesome advice from some guys from this site) and have found out that she is still legal in New Zealand (we have messed up licencing laws that basicly mean if the vehicle has been just sitting dormant for a few years its almost a waste of time to try and get it back on the road) heres my build blog for what its worth: http://kingcab.tumblr.com/ cheers Brett

Hi guys progress has been very very slow....actually there hasnt been any! hard to find the time, money and motivation when also trying to get a new business of the ground! I have a question....do these come with diesel engines? im thinking of a transplant to make it more useable...gas prices are cray here! cheers Brett

yeah your right on that one. i think u shoud update wikipedia! lol I just found out that mine is an actuall new zealand new model as well. most of our japaneese stuff is second hand imported from japan. just makes it abit rareer and has abit more traceable history.

Hi guys im new here. heres my little intro: http://community.ratsun.net/topic/39983-noob-from-new-zealand-and-my-kingcab/ I have got the truck running but after about 3-10 minutes it spitts and farts and then dies. we atart her up again and take off for maybe 30 seconds and it will die again. we seem to be able to crawl along in 1st for quite a while and if we just sit there it will run sweet...we can rev it and its all good. after a few more minutes it gets harder and harder to start and then eventually you have to wait a minute or so between tries. we have checked all the spark plugs and replaced 2 ht leads and played with the fuel mix and it is now running better initally but still does the same thing. what im really after is a tuneup guide or something for the L18 motors or some knowledge you guys may have. Its been ages since i jumped into a carbied, points type of motor so im abit rusty and dont wanna spend money replacing things in a witch hunt. cheers Brett

yeah i dig the look of the L series. im gonna either polish the valve cover or get it powdercoated neon green. the rest of the engine bay will be black with maybe a chrome rod style air cleaner. no pix of the flat deck as yet...its not great and im thinking of a complete re-build.
