  1. Man... I just wanna sit down for hours and read mounds of your stories. I understand Hypo stands for police, but I don't FULLY understand it. What's the deal there?
  2. Might be a silly question: The dusting of the car looks really good. Do you know if they just used a paper or saw dust or some commercial application? heh.. thanks.
  3. Sweet pics and awesome story. I'm a film student and nothing extreme like that [yet] but I used Dave Lum's 510 in a short I shot but never completed. Productions are alot of fun and pay really well. Glad you enjoyed it even though the days were long as they usually are, but for a car wrangler, etc alot of waiting can be a pain unless you're enamored with the process and production which it looks like you were... I'm going through your gallery of pictures now.. exciting stuff.. thanks for the high quality pics!
  4. Yeah the big bully finally go rocked. the scene with the datsun(s) was like 12 minutes from the end of the movie. The scene with the dude getting lit on fire was like 22 minutes from the end...
  5. YEAH! I saw that too. There was a red 4 door I think... That's the only 510 I saw. there were some others that looked similar but I dunno.
  6. All good points. I already have a job, but yeah I suppose it would make sense to get settled first. I know Cali 510s cost more for some reason, alot of the time. As far as wrenching i have an aptitude for electronics, but not really mechanics. I, however have faith in myself, and have read of many people at the verge of giving up but sticking it out - I've been in that situation with my jeep and persisted. I'll hold out till I have cash in hand, not a loan. Thanks guys.
  7. I graduate college end of September. I'm gonna move back to the bay area from Portland. I'll be vehicle-less, homeless, insurance-less. I've been on here for a while and read alot. I know I want a 510 still but not knowing stick really has me worried. There's the off chance I find a 2 door auto... but I wouldn't count on it. I've seen 510's lately sell for cheap to pretty reasonable around here and northern california. Is there anyone that learned on their own manual transmission vehicle and not some other vehicle? I'm concerned I'll break something or wear the clutch(?) down. I understand the mechanics and think I could pick it up quickly. Anyways, I just wanted to hear some feedback or opinions on learning stick vs. auto. Also, what's your opinion on taking an initial loan out for a 510 to come along and purchase before traveling back to Cali and taking it with me? :confused:
  8. What did you use to paint the engine bay. It looks really amazing!
  9. "Class of BYRURS!" :confused::confused: haha:D
  10. Is that place off Hwy 99 around Tigard/ Sherwood area in Oregon? Looks way familiar. Welcome!
  11. That cleaned up real nice. Sweet find. Does it run? heh..
  12. That first article was a great read, thanks Richard!
  13. Not to hijack, but are there more pics of this anywhere / a write up or anything?
  14. You're amazing, that fab work looks really great. After you did the merger thing, you cut the tops off? But then why is the tube at the end four times this size of the single header tube?
